But do you remember the original prayer request?

Here is the excerpt from October 18, 2013: The Vastness of Our God.

I thought to myself, ”Well, they can pray for me to receive the gift of fasting if they must pray bout something for me.” Geeze, it sounds so smug when I type this. Forgive me. And in all honesty, I do struggle in this area of fasting and my stomach is my last remaining idol of my life. I would like to rid myself of overeating. 

So today we are ending this journey and I have one final miracle to share:

That original prayer request to gain control over my last remaining idol, my stomach. Well I came home and my desire for a glass or two of wine at night  — GONE–. I’m healed and I’ve already lost weight. My body will be a living testimony to the power that comes from the fear of the Lord. 

Psalms 33:8
Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.

The journey to the supernatural is one of maturity and purity. 

I’m healed and whole by the power of the King of Kings. That is my testimony. 

This entire story is my testimony and now I anoint it and pass it along to you that you may partake of it, receive it and may it manifest in your life. 

Revelations 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

    Praising God with you! My issues is smoking. I’ve prayed for years about it. Also, I am overwhelmed with some stuff again. I know it’s my own fault though. When I get frustrated with hubby for not helping or being involved with running the house, I get to the point where I just stop dealing with stuff. Then I get even father behind and totally overwhelmed and don’t know where to pick up where I left off.

    Amen Lynn! I love how our Abba just pours out His blessings into our lives. He is AMAZING! Praising Him with you for your deliverance!
    I have several issues that I have been asking The Lord to deliver me from. One of the greatest issues is fear. It keeps me from so many things. I daily, if not hourly ask Jesus to please increase my trust in Him so that fear may not have room in my mind.
    I too also struggle with over eating. Food becomes my friend (specially sweets) when I feel sad.

    Lynn, What a great testimony to end this portion of the journey! God’s faithfulness NEVER ceases to amaze me. I feel like I’m just dropped jaw all the time. My struggle comes from my lack of trust. It’s gotten better. I heard once that faith and fear are diabolical opposites and cannot exist at the same time. I so badly want unshakeable faith that comes from knowing beyond any shadow of a doubt that God is working ALL things together for our good. I want faith that trusts in His perfect timing and ways. I do know all that, but yikes, that fear creeps in sometimes and shakes me to the core. I feel that trust and faith being made stronger every day as I learn to take my thoughts captive and give them straight to God. As for spiritual gifts… You know what I really want?? I’ve been praying for this, but not sure it’s even a real spiritual gift. I want to be able to see people through the eyes of Christ. I want it to see people – all people from a place of pure love. I feel like I’ve gotten a taste of that with my husband and it’s amazing to be able to look at someone that way. I would love to be able to see in the spirit too. I just think that would be the coolest! Thanks for your transparency and for your prayers. Love you, my friend!!!

    HALLELUJAH LYNN! WE ARE FREE! I so GET this one. God convicted me years ago to put my drinking into perspective. I played so many games with myself that of course never worked. Friends would try to convince me it’s OK but I KNEW it was NOT. When I finally conquered this through tragedy, it hit me like a lightning bolt one Sunday at church. I AM FREE!!!…and YES! POUNDS LIGHTER! Our Father takes such GOOD care of us. Leading His children to hear His voice and into His plans.
    I believe lately in reading something about gifts that mine is Faith, which I didn’t even know could BE a gift!? I recognized God turning me into a Server and Giver but Faith? This was new and exciting! Huh…as I write this God is kinda confirming this very thought to me by showing me the example of how I boldly posted my Amazing Grace album publicly on Facebook BECAUSE of FAITH in ALL He has shown me! LOL
    WOW! SO COOL! 😀
    I can’t wait to SQUEEZE MY SUMITE FAMILY in person at Bethel next year!!!!

    Yeah, Lynn. I am glad you are feeling free and light (light = pun of free and less weight).
    I want to consistently radiate joy. Shouldn’t Christians shine brightly through joy? I want to see every day as an adventure and a blessing, even in the midst of the ordinary and routine. I want my life style to draw people to The Lord.

    Lynn, I too have problems with overeating, mostly when I’m with fellow overeaters, most of whom are obese (I am not and never want to be). I want to be an example to them, a light for them, rather than be a “I know I can’t beat ’em so I might as well join ’em” person.
    Food just calls to me when I’m around them. I’m okay when it’s just me or just my Hubby & kids, but get me in front of a buffet, or at a party, or with Hubby’s good friend or my Hubby’s family, and I’m DONE. I want to be DONE with this demon instead! Please pray for me that I will use food as a tool for healthiness and holiness, not as a fix for happiness or boredom or stress or whatever. I need to glorify God with my body at ALL times, not just when it’s convenient.
    God is already helping me, I have a couple of great accountability partners and I’ve worked off (not lost) 17 pounds since August. But I’m at a standstill on the scale, and when the holidays arrive the temptation to “do as the Romans do” will be very real. I need Him to be foremost in my mind, where I feel His presence more than anyone else around me.

    I have recently found out that I have been stifling my emotions to protect myself and I want my emotions back. I want to feel again and I want to be set free from the oppression in my life. I want to stop making my husband and my marriage an idol in my life above God and what He is telling me to do. I don’t know what gift I want as I would take whatever God bestows on me all I want is to see His Spiritual realm to experience that and have His power full inside of me.

    Thank you for that wonderful testimony, I would ask that the Lord clearly reveal my purpose. I believe I have spiritual gifts (like prophecy,discernment, compassion) which are in early manifestation, well I believe this because I dreamt/saw someone’s calling to become a preacher.. (I believe God wants me to fully grow in Him first)If I am deluded may the Lord reveal it to me. My full name is Nozipho which means Queen of gifts and while I was a prodigal daughter I didn’t fully understand but I believe my gifting is in the spiritual realm.

    This makes me think of a friend Teresa who recently has stepped up RIGHT BESIDE JESUS to walk beside Him and she works for a cell phone company that has a booth in the mall. She is shining her light. People are drawn in by it. She is sharing and expressing HOW we need to be living. Opening windows and doors that God is breathing through to help them SEE how to turn their problems around and recently?…I LOVE THIS…she realized she is right where God wants her because the name of the company she works for reflects EXACTLY her “ministry” while at work now…..TELUS.
    You’re right teresa. SHINE YOUR LIGHT FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE! There’s NOTHING attractive about a crank pot! 😛

    Hey Arielle. I had to share one thing when I read “stifling emotions.” God pointed out to me recently that I am stifling my laughter. I used to have a good loud belly laugh and because my husband was NOT laughing out loud anymore, I stuffed mine into a hole too? I heard God loud and clear. LAUGH! So I am. And guess what! David is starting to now too! 😉 Let those emotions OUT GURL! You will experience CHANGE when you DO! Trust me!!!!

    Nozipho!! LOVE THIS!!! AND…WOW! Neen!? Remember the blog on discovering your “God name?” Nozipho ALREADY is living her’s! SO COOL! I for one Noz BELIEVE you have your answer and just need to confidence to step into it. God won’t let you say anything to anyone that isn’t from Him. You’ll KNOW it. Queen of gifts! BEAUTIFUL! I think He has a LOT MORE in store for you besides JUST the ones you mentioned, with a blessed name such as this? WOW!

    Can I just share Sue that the way God suddenly opened my eyes to drinking was that there was not room for the Holy Spirit in me when I consumed too much. It’s hard when you live with influence to NOT want to join in? Especially sitting by the bon fire. But as I did when I quit smoking, I got BUSY and changed my habit and routines. But that was the clincher. The Holy Spirit in me. Not wanting to chase Him out. Having to pick one or the other. Of course there was always the rapture on my mind too. I didn’t want to be intoxicated if Jesus returned!!!! I think it was all about putting things into focus with the Holy Spirit in me. Being the Church and a living example. My Africa Mission Trip REALLY put eating into focus too. How MUCH we eat and are ABLE to eat just because we DESIRE here in North America. I came home to reduced portion sizes! I often think of the Apostles traveling with Jesus and how very little they had but God gave them strength to continue with health through each day and all that it brought.
    I remember being told…”Eat your food! There are children starving in Africa!” I so GET this now and it has caused me to reduce portions because NOW I feel like excess is gluttony.
    Just sharing where I personally am with my thinking. 🙂

    Exactly. You’ve got it. I think most people would say I have a sense of humor. But I want to be someone who constantly lifts others up. I don’t want to be a crank about the traffic on the way to work. Etc. I want others to wonder why I am so joyful.

    My prayer is for more boldness and zeal for The Lord. I need to speak out more and verbally stand up for my faith in Jesus. I shriek back when coming face to face with situations that really need me to open my mouth. And I think because I heard the name of Jesus said so much in vain when I was a child, I really shy from saying His most precious name. I love Him so much and anguish over this all the time. Thank you so much for your prayer.

    I suffer from Trichotillomania. I pull my hair out. I have done this for 23 years. I do it when I’m anxious, when I’m bored, when I’m afraid, and when I drive. I HATE it. I seem to have all of the will but no ability. I was prayed over by a healer about 4 years ago and stopped for about 6 months. But it’s progressively come back. It really bothers my husband.
    I noticed my 4 year old daughter mimicking me too. 🙁
    Please Lord, anoint and heal me! Or teach me what I need to know through this struggle.

    Dawn, I know what you mean. I struggled wanting to trust more – and honestly it took jumping off the edge in faith to Texas of all places to really find it. (And that’s not to say you can’t lose it again, darn!) Basically, I didn’t find that place of safe child-like trust – until I gave up my control of everything for a week and let him decide everything. But it was then that I watched Him come and provide for every need and with generous abundance for His daughter!
    Later last spring I also prayed specifically for conviction, that I would know without a shadow of the doubt that God was REAL (and thus all his promises etc). I was so tired of the doubts coming in (what if….?) to steal my joy: and He answered that prayer! I haven’t doubted God’s existence since, but trusting is still sometimes easier said than done. 🙂 I write this as much for me as for you, it really is linked to the degree of control we’re holding (not just trusting Him to bless our plans)

    Lynn, Thank you for this powerful series. God is revealing Himself to you in such an amazing way. Thank you for your heart to share it with us. The image of my husband as a soldier receiving his medal from Jesus for valor and service has changed me! I want more! I want to see everyone as my Father sees them! HUGE! He has carried me way out of my comfort zone in the past few weeks and it has been a scary but wonderful ride! I want to stay in His presence. One of my stumbling blocks is organization-specifically time management and clutter. Too many ideas, too much paper. I don’t even know exactly what deliverance from this would look like but I would treasure your prayers. Love you!

    I will pray for you Alaina because I TOO suffer mildly from this. Even when I purposely make an effort to NOT do it? I catch myself suddenly doing it? Especially when I am in my studio painting! I started off with just “twirling” my hair but now I pull it out? My brother suffers from this too but his solution is to shave his head which keeps his hands out. We females don’t have that choice. Or do we? Anyways…YES…Alaina…I AM PRAYING ABOUT THIS FOR YOU!

    I think one encouraging fact Bev is that we have recognized our “issue.” I know many who have them and live with them like they HAVE too? Not even realizing it’s something that needs addressing? Thank God we acknowledge it so we can NOW go to Him with it and let Him begin to work with us on it.

    So happy for you, Lynn. I don’t feel like I deserve to ask for prayer. I need freedom from fear, obsessive thoughts and distorted thinking. I only ask because I’ve been captive to this distressing disorder for too long and I feel like a completely ineffective Christian witness. I need healing that can only come from the Holy Spirit and patience in the meantime. If anyone will pray for me I thank you.

    I can relate to Christine wanting courage to share Jesus. God has shown me that when we are in a dark room, to let our light shine bright but not flicker. There is nothing more annoying than a lamp flickering in a room. I am an occasional drinker but I want freedom from that. I also want to be full of the Holy Spirit and nothing else, Thanks Joanne.

    Hi Lynette,
    I’m asking the Lord to overwhelm you with a fresh anointing of hope. Of goodness and love. It will fill you up and lead you to tackle the chores at home.
    Lord, I remove the curse of comparison from Lynette. I ask you to fill her up with grace, love and a keen awareness of your Presence. In this place, give her the gumption to tackle one household project at a time finding satisfaction in her person for each one. Let her not be consumed with what her husband is not doing but thankful if or when he does help. Lord, stir his heart to help. Give Lynette wisdom to ask him to help under your perfect timing.
    Lord, I also ask that you would send one person to her who can walk her through the surrender of this God of tobacco. Release her of this addiction, in King Jesus name. Amen.
    Empower her. Let her seek the face of Jesus and let her find joy in the little things that you send her every day. In King Jesus name. Amen

    I know so many women are consumed with fear. Fear that paralyzes and keeps us from grace and living in Your Presence. Lord, I pass along to Carmen a new power that comes from your throne of grace.

    Lord, make this WORD such a powerful truth that it is an immediate paradigm change in her life. Let her begin to repeat this verse over and again. Out loud and this hour let her experience the true power that comes from this Holy Word.
    Lord, release in Carmen the gift of weigh loss. Immediately change her eating habits and let her obey you when you call her to sacrifice her idol, her stomach. In King Jesus name. Amen

    I wish I had a necklace with a mustard seed enclosed in glass for Dawn. I heard you shout to me that this mustard see belongs to Dawn and she has more faith and power than she knows. So, I release this power of the faith of a mustard see. I release a fresh love for Jesus. Because all things, spiritual gifts, will flow out of that. In King Jesus name. Amen.
    Dawn, I’m truly hearing God call you to buy a mustard seed necklace and place it around your neck as the living power and process that God is walking with you and through you. I think you can order one online. Be obedient because you will look or feel that seed upon your neck and it will be strength to you in moments of fear or uncertainty. Love you. Lynn

    Girl, you and I declare freedom… AMEN… I love your posts and your courage and INDEED you have a gift of faith. And God works through you and your faith… You are a faith giver and a faith encourager to so many others. Including me. Thank you.
    Lord, I also see Joanne as a fountain of joy. You have created in her a fountain of your joy and bubbles eternally and she is a spring that gives great joy to others. Thank you. She is a special gift and I see your smile upon her. Raise up in her more of you.     Today I release the gift of weight loss into Sue. That she will become so consumed with the Awe of You and King Jesus that it alters her perceptions about food, her stomach an idol, and that she willingly and thankfully can fast. She sits on a precipice to receive great power for this world from you. I ask that you place upon her this gift of weight loss that her body also will become a living testimony to the people in her city. In King Jesus name. Amen

    I want to release into you a hunger. An unending and unyeilding hunger for more of God’s world. Be hungry for His Word, to talk to Him all day long and then your freedom is born and you will experience true supernatural miracles.
    Press deeply into His Word and His love and focus not on your understanding and what others are doing. But live in LOVE with Jesus. Your faith will see you through and you will be rewarded but this is a season of developing your faith. The enemy is going to try to tell you that God is not real or that He has no power. THAT IS A LIE FROM THE PIT OF HELL. But God wants your heart first and then He will move and accomplish all you desire and then so much more.

    Nozipho,
    I declare that you are indeed, The Queen of Gifts. God is not a stingy God. No one day months ago as I was asking God for more gifts and wondering if I was only allowed to have one, I heard Him clearly say to me, “Lynn, I am not a stingy God but I am a lavish God. I will not withhold any good thing from you.”
    But this also came with a challenge. God provideds for all of our needs but to those who want more than just our needs met, for those of us who are hungry and want more, we MUST pursue the Kingdom with every bit of our energy, resources, might and purpose. We must pursue these gifts by finding others who can train us, help us. We must be in circles where these gifts are used. We must read books about them and pursue maturity and purity above all else.
    God honors lives that are in pursuit of His ways. You are already on your way. Press in and watch all that God bestows upon you. In King Jesus name. Amen

    I bestow upon Christine the profound blessing of courage.I ask you to anoint her with Joshua courage to step WITHOUT fear into this new season in her life. Place a fire in her that rises up to speak truth with a powerful love. That it will silence her enemies. In King Jesus name. Amen.

    Lord,
    This is an evil Spirit that is compulsively pulling apart Alaina. So today, I stand with her in Your name Jesus. By your power and authority given to me in Luke 9:1&2 I demand this spirit be broken off of her in Jesus name.. (Alaina) read this out loud over and again in the days ahead until you have complete freedom)
    Lord, I rebuke this spirit from having any voice in her life again from this day forward. I ask you to break off any curse that has manifest in this condition and I declare it powerless and broken back through her family line on her mother’s side and father’s side all the way back to Adam and Eve.In King Jesus name. Amen
    Lord, now I release freedom and love. A love that replaces fear and the darkness. Let Alaina be radically loved by Jesus. Let her see His face. In Jesus name. Amen
    I declare her freedom day today. In Jesus name. Amen

    In the name of our all-powerful King Jesus, I declare a new freedom for Bev from this fear that throwing out papers. I declare today that she has freedom to start to release the papers. If there are any that are important that they will resurface again through other ways. That tomorrow, she can walk to her desk and not over analyze the papers but see that are of no or little value and begin to throw them out. With each papers she tosses in the can, bestow freedom. Give her faith that you will protect her and let her uncover from this demonic pressure and fear.
    I declare her release from this covenant of a lie that she has come into agreement with. Let her rebuke the lie that all the papers need her time and attention. Lead her only to the few that actually need her eyes.
    As the freedom builds then begin to release the next level of spiritual gifts. I declare her freedom and her power in the Kingdom this day. In Jesus name Amen.
    God gave me 1 Cor 14 for you. Read it all but do not allow the limiting of women cause you to stumble. God hand is upon women and He is bringing many into covenant and ministry. This is you Bev. In Jesus name. Amen

    Carrie,
    I just hear Jesus talking to you. He wants just you. He wants you to spend time with Him. To get to know Him to talk with Him. Carrie, He wants to be your friend. He wants you to be His friend.
    It’s a time of pruning. You have too much on your place. Release everything that hinders and is not crucial to your life. Then He WILL GIVE you all these things that you desire. He is standing waiting and you must press into this invitation. It is so clear right now.

    Lord Jesus,
    My heart is greatly moved by Kim. I know she lives in fear that the enemy has placed in her mind and heart and soul. Lord, you have brought her here to receive freedom and a life of great promise, adventure and love.
    So today Lord, I ask that you would release a truth in her the the enemy no long has control of her thoughts and life. That she would realize that she is a child of the Most High God and that she can and will walk away from the enemies lies.
    I ask you to anoint her with the gift of the indwelling of the Presence and the power of the Holy Spirit. (Read this out loud Kim)
    Lord, let her KNOW through her entire being that there is NO condemnation in Christ Jesus. Give her a hunger for your Holy and Powerful Word. Lead her to pray with you and to you frequently, in every day conversation.
    Release her from the tormentor and let her walk into the truth. That Jesus is her Redeemer, healer and will protect her and love on her with power and tenderness. In King Jesus Holy name. Amen.

    Lord,
    I know Jen. I have walked where she walks and I ask your power and your deliverance. Grant her a glimpse of the AWE of Christ for that is where her power lays. Let Jesus overwhelm her with love and let her see His face.
    Lord, I release a new hunger in her for all things of the Spirit and of you God. Let her become such a bright light that she is a contender and leader for you in her city. In King Jesus name. Amen

    I need prayer for weight loss. I am 40 pounds over weight, and it is ALL tummy. I have been asked many many times. When are you due…..yep people think I am having a baby, to be honest i do look like i am seven months pregnant. I was even asked a couple of times when my husband was with me. I felt so awful so I soothed the pain with eating. I love food i eat food when i am sad, mad and even when I am happy. i wear big sweaters all the time to try and cover my tummy. It’s so depressing.

    Oh sweet Lynn, you are a gift to me! Thank you for the prayer! I have a feeling you were praying for me right around the time I was stuffing myself as I hosted a cast party for my daughter. I could almost hear the inner conversation between the Holy Spirit in me and the enemy; the enemy won again 🙁 But no more! I need to honor God with my body, not honor my body with my mouth!

    Michelle, I engage in what I’ll call “mindless” eating, mostly when I’m at a party or with certain people. If food is in front of me I eat it whether I’m hungry or not. Before I know it I feel stuffed & guilty. I plan on getting the book Taking Back Your Temple, a Christian weight loss book that uses Scripture to battle eating disorders. I will pray for you and you can pray for me, that we can WIN this war with Christ’s help!

    Lord Jesus, I release in Michelle the gift of weight loss. I ask you Holy Spirit to descend upon her home her heart her stomach this very hour and bring change. Lord, I ask for the awe of Christ Jesus to fill her up and overwhelmed her. That is where her power lies. In the love and awe of Christ. Lord I find whatever agreement shall has made with the enemy that leads are stuck in this place. I release healing into her body in the power of Jesus. A break all covenants with the devil and strongholds on her stomach. I rebuke this idle her stomach in Jesus name. Michelle your freedom Day is at hand.     I need prayer for deliverance from my depression. I also suffer from fibromyalgia…I have for 10+ years. I am only 34. This past month has been especially hard because when the weather gets colder, my body hurts more. The chronic fatigue and pain steal so much from me. I just want to sleep all the time. I have four kids (ages range from16mo -15 yrs) and miss having energy to play with them and really be engaged. Most days I shuffle through the days waiting for nap time and bedtime. Feelings of inadequacies and failure as a parent plague me. I don’t want my kids to remember all mommy wanted to do was sleep all the time.
    I feel like right now I am in such a spiritual battle. A little over a month ago I was on such a spiritual high that I could see God working and moving pieces. (My desire is to start a SUM group at my new church plant.) I know I am in the waiting period now but I feel so battle worn. Coming to grips with a chronic illness that may never go away and only gets worse as I get older is very very hard. Somedays I can claim verses, pray and be okay…..there is a reason I am walking this path. Other days I am so beaten down and struggle against the devil’s lies.
    I went to the doctor today. He gave me another prescription but I am Leary of it because it causes even more drowsiness along with other side effects. I filled the script but need prayer and clear direction whether or not I should take it.
    I came to this post late but am so glad because I have gotten to read all the comments. What a wonderful community!
    Father please fill me with your peace and bring joy back into my life. Amen

    Lord Jesus,
    I’m overwhelmed with love for Sarah. I see or perceive in my spirit that she has many arrows of wounds, harmful and hurtful words, that have landed and are stuck in her from the lies of the enemy. Lord Jesus, by your authority give to me in Luke 9:1-2 I command those arrows to be pulled from her flesh and spirit. That this hour Sarah discovers her identity as a powerful and loved and adored child of the Most High God. Our Papa who only has good for Sarah. Who want to tlle you she is beautiful, a capable and great mother. Who wants to heal her physically from these afflictions.
    So this minute, I declare her healing in the spirit and her physical body. That she finds a healing conference and goes for healing. That she reads healing books written by Godly men and woman. Lord, rise up in her a fullness of your Holy Spirit. Reveal her power over the lies of the enemy. Deliver her in every way, spirit, soul, body. In the power and authority of King Jesus, the Glorified Prince. Jesus. Amen
