Remember it's in the evening that your hunger will begin to really ramp up. Lean into God and pray when those hunger pangs start. With each growl that is a calling to whisper words of prayer, to sit with your Bible to ask for strength. Drink plenty of water, at least 1 gallon of purified water today. Juice and broth when needed.

Rosheeda Lee:
Let me just say, gang, that I am SO honored to do this with you every year. It’s such a privilege to live out the faith I hold so dear with other Believers! I’ve missed you!
Today’s Activity: Seek God for a verse for yourself and one for your mate for 2011. Write it and turn it into a prayer. Hold them close to your hearts.
Today’s Focus: Personal submission for ourselves and prayer specifically for our households and extended families.
Three words for my 2010. LONG. PAINFUL. OVERWHELMING.
Three words for my God in 2010: ADONAI. NISSI. SHAMMAH.
He has been my Master, my Banner, and my Present Help. He wants to be that for you too. But it can only be that way if a) you submit and b) you embrace His Sovereignty. Seriously. It’s the only way. Today make a commitment to submit yourself to His work no matter how it feels or how it looks. Press into Him and really make some choices today. God doesn’t want part-time service. Almost doesn’t count. Decide today whether you are in or out.
If you’re not coming into 2011 to play to win, you may as well pack your bags and head on back to the house. For real. If you don’t intend to walk away with victory, if this is just a nice way to start the year off on a good note, then stop now. See, here’s the deal. I have some inside information on this thing: ‘The evil one did not come to play only to lose. He came to win. But God says, “He will not have victory in your life if you will take My hand and follow Me. If you will do as I say, if you will trust Me – even in your pain – you will be victorious. I. ALWAYS. PREVAIL.”
Victory only comes by submission and obedience – over and over and over again, and no matter the circumstances. Satan may not intend to lose. But God DOESN’T lose. So you see, it’s all a matter of what team you play for. And just to be clear, a choice to live on your terms, absent God’s direction, is a choice for the losing team – because God is going to have His way, whether or not you are a willing participant.
He spoke to me on Wednesday morning and He said to me: ‘Your best intentions are not greater than My sovereignty.’ Take that to heart.
His word says in Romans 9:15-16: 'For He says to Moses, "I WILL HAVE MERCY ON WHOM I HAVE MERCY, AND I WILL HAVE COMPASSION ON WHOM I HAVE COMPASSION." So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.' Submit and respect that He is in control of the good AND the bad.
I want you to know that Lynn, Dineen, and I have been praying specifically for each of you for many weeks now. God has given us clear burdens and convictions about this fast and I feel compelled to share them with you. This fast will not be one where hands are held and we spoon-feed truth. This is all about discovery for each of us. God wants us to ‘learn to relish the taste of (spiritual) meat’. Expect Him, but on His own terms. Embrace the beauty of the unexpected work and way of Jehovah. Know that what seems good is not always good and that what FEELS right is not always best.
This year is a year of transformation and re-organization in many, many lives. Let your life be one of them. We love you and we are praying for you and seeking with you. Ro
Let us know how you are doing through the day. We will be checking in here as well to share our experience in the comments. Hugs, Lynn
