September 24 and ends in the evening of Friday, September 26.

Do You Dream?

I know we all dream when we sleep. However, it is rare that I remember my dreams. I know that God speaks, even today, through our dream life. And many of you have an active night life *grin*. (Acts 2:17)

For many believers, because they are so busy during the day, they rarely sit quietly before God and listen, so it’s only at night, when we are still that we are positioned to hear the still small voice of God. (1 Kings 19:11)

But for me I can’t seem to recall my dreams very often. So what is really cool about that is that God wakes me up on occasion. Today as we move into the “New Year” I want to share what I heard God whisper to me a few months ago. And as I sat quietly before the Lord this morning, it was as though I heard Him shouting now that what I heard is not only for just me but also for you.

So a few months back, I woke from a sound sleep in the middle of the night. It was dark in the bedroom and for some reason I became completely awake and opened my eyes. It felt as though the Holy Spirit was standing over me for hours, waiting for my eyes to open and it was at that precise moment, that I heard, “You are My craftsmanship.”

Whoa!!!

I laid in bed staring at the dark celling, pondering this message. Craftsmanship? Craftsmanship? What does that mean? Is that in the Bible? Why are you telling me this Lord?

The next morning the Lord directed me to a specific verse. And wouldn’t you know, it’s in EPHESIANS CHAPTER TWO. I can’t tell you right now how profound that is to me. I have a post planned for next week about this very chapter.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. (KJV) -Ephesians 2:10 

I’ve looked at the definition in the Greek and various translations and the word, workmanship, is defined. As a poem (poiema -isn’t that cool), A work, a craft, Art, trade. 

We are God’s art, His Poem, His work, His craft. We are created for good works as the verse continues. My friends, each and every one of us was created…….

To create. 

We were born to create. To be creative, to dream up crazy, wild, imaginative stuff and create something beautiful, something useful, powerful, lovely, fun, transformative. We were born for THIS purpose. What I’ve come to know is that the great deceiver has stolen that truth from God’s children. The devil has lied to so many through a parent or teacher who said we couldn’t make anything worthy. Or that to be creative you must sing, dance or paint. 

Creativity is everywhere and I promise you this, you have been given a gift to create. It may be with drafting, with math and money, the ability to gather an effective team, teaching, decorating your house, parenting well. You may be able to sing, write or paint. These are all part of God’s great works that He created for us to do here on earth before the world began. 

So today as we pass before the Lord on this, The first day of His New Year, let’s dream. 

Let’s Dream Big.

Dream ChallengeI want you to take out a piece of paper. On the Top write Rosh Hashana 2014-2015 Dream List: 

Then start writing out every dream you have for your life. Nothing is off limits. Dream Big. Write down even the dreams you’ve dared not share with anyone. This year we are going to dream with our Papa and allow Him to stir many of these dreams into life in the next 12 months. 

Do you want to see if our God moves upon our dreams? Then get your paper and start writing. So far, I have 23 dreams written down. I will share a few with you to give you a taste that I dream BIG with God.

 

Okay, was this enough to get you started? Today or tomorrow, go to your secret place (your quiet place) with God and say: 

“Lord, I’m ready to dream. Show me what we might do this year. I cast off all doubt and I demand the silence of voice of the enemy that is trying to keep me from dreaming Your dreams. I choose to believe in You and Your Word that says I have good works for my life that You prepared before the world began.” 

Let’s create my friends. Many of you are supposed to write, to sing, to unite the church, to speak to nations, to draw. You are destined to raise children who will soar for the Kingdom, to plant and harvest, sow, reap. You are meant for greatness. Do you hear me? YOU ARE MEANT FOR GREATNESS! Let’s step out of fear or our comfort. Silence the lies and become the child, the blessed and creative child, of the Most High God. 

In Jesus name. 

Okay, get started. Leave me at least five of your dreams in the comments and I will pray in agreement over them. And my friends, I feel as though God wants me to hold your list in my hands in the next several weeks, to take them with me to the Open Heavens Conference and receive anointing. So write out a second list, (must be in your handwriting. I don’t know why but I sense it must be penned by you), mail it to me. I will pray with passion over it and take it with me in October and then send it back to you later in the month.

    Wow…I’ve had dreams for years, which actually started out as prophetic words over me, that have yet come to pass. Some are over a decade old. I often wonder if they were wrong words…anyway-
    1. To travel and be a speaker (this was a word over me)
    2. To learn to operate in my gifts
    3. My husband’s salvation
    4. My son’s salvation
    5. To write my book

    Thank you so much for this message. I am truly believing that this started a new year for me in every area of my life.
    Here are five of my dreams ( the are kind of long)
    1. That I would know and forever life in the purpose and calling God has for me
    2. The my husband would renew his relationship with the Lord and walk in his purpose and calling for his life
    3. For my Children and their future families to walking purpose knowing, loving and following God for the rest of their lives
    4. For our family and the generations to come to be free from the bondage of debt
    5. To live fearlessly, healed of depression, anxiety and teaching others to do the same

    We are His craftsmanship….I LOVE IT! I have a lot of dreams.
    1. Complete salvation and Holy Spirit Baptism for my hubby.
    2. To be content with what I have and not compare to others.
    3. To sing.
    4. That my children will be powerful and effective for the Kingdom of God and that they will forever walk in His will for their lives.
    5. That I will want to and enjoy thoroughly reading God’s word on a daily basis.
    These are not in any special order, just how they came to mind. I choose to walk in faith that God will manifest these things in our lives! Be blessed!

    Oh how I needed this today! I have been praying consistently for the last few months for my passion of photography but felt weird for asking because it wasn’t spiritual enough! I love to create and show emotion through my pictures as well as trying to find a way for me to make an income as well as to be able to stay home with my kids. I want to honor God with everyplace in my life and am learning to trust him with every facet of it. I want to DREAM BIG!!
    1. Salvation and wholehearted repentance and devotion to God for my husband and children. For them to be drawn to His heart and have a relationship with our Father, our Papa, our Daddy
    2. For me to surrender every facet of my life and trust God to provide all my needs.
    3. For my photography business, sarah jane photography, to flourish and glorify God. To be able to help supplement our income so I can stay home with my little ones.
    4. A new home that is big enough for all six of us! Currently living in 800sq ft.
    5. To sit and listen in the quiet for God’s voice and will for my life

    Sorry I’ve been MIA for a while, I’ve still been checking in and catching a post here and there. My husband (ex technically) and I have been back living together, he still has one hand hanging on to that prodigal lifestyle, but God has better plans for us.
    Dreams for this new year
    1-Remarriage to my husband
    2-For him to know and understand that he has been called and purposed by God
    3-For my own revelation of the work that God has purposed for me
    4-More Holy Spirit encounters, for us both

    Liz, praying right now for your husband/prodigal to let go of his life and to fully give his life over to the Lord. I pray the truth of the gospel will seep into him and release him from anything that is holding him back from following Christ. I pray that God will show your husband his purpose and that he will take up his cross and obediently follow Christ to where ever he is calling him to join God’S Work. I pray that you will both serve God and know the gifts and Purpose God has for you individually and as a couple.     1. My beloved, husband to have the scales removed from his eyes and have a Damascus road experience. Where he is free from all the bondage from his past. That he will feel the love of God being pored into his life. And he will take up his cross and follow Christ.

    2. To move higher and learn more in ministry and my calling. To be more in tune with God and BRING MANY PEOPLE TO GOD

As we pray for one another I in turn stand with Angie Lord Jesus and ask that her requests be heard and received before Your Throne.     Oh what a fantastic post!! My dreams:
    1. For God to open my husband’s blinded eyes and give him a hunger and thirst for Him.. to want a walk with Him.
    2. To truly pray without ceasing and talk to Him about every single thing.
    3. To learn puppetry and use it in my church and any other area the Lord leads.
    4. To know Him more so much more
    5. To face the consequences of past sin with head held high while He heals me.

    2. God has put this fire in my heart to built a Sumite ministry in my church. There are so many women like us in my church and I hope that God makes a way for us to fit into the life of our church home

    1). To walk in Gods will for my life…grow in my knowledge of him & fulfill his purposes forr my

    2). Salvation and restoration of my husbands life (physical & spiritual health).for him to know Jesus & follow him. To lead our home, to be a strong man in Christ
    3). For my friends & family that do not know Christ, to see beyond religion & see relationship and Hope
    4). For fellow Christians to rise up and rejoice, to live in the truth of who we are In Christ. To be fearless and serve selflessly

    So I know what to post, is there a difference between a dream, a wish, a hope, or a prayer request? Is a dream bigger than a wish? Is it prayer request something you leave at the foot of the cross, but a dream is something you hold onto? I think of a dream as something almost unattainable, something far reaching, something you work towards. Where does God do His greatest work? Can I even measure levels of His greatness or is everything equally great because He is God?

    5. Raise my daughter in the faith and educate her in the Christian school system
    Those are my first 5. My list goes on and on and on, I didn’t realize how much was on my heart. One of the major things that has been really affecting me is a possible change in our living situation next spring. We have been renting a small apartment for a long time and last May we moved into an amazing home that I would love to raise my daughter in, my brother lives with us, and without this team effort this home wouldn’t be a possibility for our family. For some reason my husband has grown to have some sort of chip on his shoulder about my brother (who is the kindest person in the world, I just don’t get it). I grieve the thought of moving my daughter out of this beautiful home and into something much smaller, any parent wants to give their child the world! This would also force my brother out of the home and into a smaller living situation. The whole idea of it breaks my heart to pieces. All of this is just balancing on my husband’s inability to accept my brother for who he is. It’s like my brother’s personality just annoys my husband or something. I love my husband, I love my brother, I love this home. Ugh!!! Pray for me!!!! I feel so out of control. It is 7 months away and it just sits in the back of my mind and I can’t shake it. I pray that God will let us stay, but is that a selfish prayer request? =***(

    What an amazing calling to build a Sumite ministry at your church! How I wish that my own church had such a ministry. Maybe that is something I could pray about myself 🙂
    Lord please guide Christy so that she is able to fulfill her dreams of pursuing a degree in ministry, starting her own Sumite ministry and to help guide the prebelievers in her life! Amen!

    – I dream of My husband and I raising our children in the faith TOGETHER
    – God I want to travel w You again!
    – I want to feel w Your heart, to cry w You, ( and Mary) over souls that are far away

    Taylor, no I don’t think it’s a selfish request. It’s not just for you, but for your daughter, your brother and even for your husband as well. Hard as it can be to live w those we don’t get along w, God can use that time to work wonders in the relationship. A year into our marriage we moved in w my husband’s parents. At the time I really didn’t get along w them and didn’t like to be around them. A few months in I still thought God was crazy lol, but after 2 yes there I came to know and understand them, and my MIL grew to understand me. We have a comfortable friendly relationship now and it’s thanks to God and His wisdom 🙂
    I prayed w you for your dreams, all 6 🙂

    – Total physical healing from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet! (Joint damage over 18 years)
    -whole family salvation– Husband, two children, father, brother and extended family!!!

    I’ve never seen anything like this before – it really is such a special and unique reaction from everyone.

    Let’s remember that before the world was made, Papa dreamed, and wrapped each of us uniquely around a dream that He had. And as we realize our uniqueness we never want to be someone else, but fulfill the unique destiny He dreamed of for us in the first place… Ahhhhh!

    Truly in my mind i believe all are the same. God’s Word says He will give us the desires of our hearts. Many people interpret that to mean we will get everything we desire, but I was taught that God as our Creator is the one that plants those dreams, hopes, wishes, and desires deep in our heart to want everything according to His will. Like even when i was a little girl and didn’t know God personally I felt He was there and I talked to Him and deep within me I’ve always wanted/felt/hoped I would be a wife and mother. I always wanted to experience childbirth and never have in a physical way but I sure have in other ways. When I got married I gained two ex-wives and 2 children from each marriage (4 total). We took custody of the younger 2 and had multiple issues to deal with. Once we had the kids for awhile they kept asking why their dad and I didn’t have any of our own. My response was that I felt they needed a mother who was fully dedicated to being the best mom they had and to bring out the best in them by giving it to them. Now, in looking back I wasn’t very good at it, but I knew if I had a child that I gave birth to I would favor it and they would probably be pushed aside and I didn’t want to do that to them. Now I have 6 beautiful grandchildren and 2 step grandsons and I get to be apart of impacting their lives for Christ.
    So my suggestion is don’t get caught up in worrying about what to call it. God knows and He has planted something deep in your heart that He wants to see you put in words and believe Him to fulfill.
    On that note here are some of mine:
    1) Total abandonment of the religious spirit that hangs over my husband’s family – miraculous spiritual encounters for each one the brings them to full surrender of sin and to walk with our Lord and experience the love He has for them – my husband, our children, grandchildren, my in-laws, and my husband’s sister and her boyfriend.
    2) To see my family become part of the local body of believers and to serve others. To see my husband to help others overcome addictions like he has been dealing with. To work with my husband in ministry somehow.
    3) For myself to continue to grow in the Lord, to be a better wife, mother, grandmother, mentor, and to have a career where I can speak freely of my faith and come along side those in need to help in any way I can.
    4) For us to have our finances restored so we can once again buy a nice home where we can open the doors to those in need and to our family so we can have grandchildren come stay.
    5) To start some kind of discipleship/mentoring ministry in our community.
    6) To dream BIG because we serve a BIG God who promises us life more abundantly!

    My prayer for your husband is that he overcome the shame of failure to provide for his family and understand that God is the one that has placed your brother there as a helper. Men have this thing called pride and it is very hard for 2 males (let’s be real it’s hard when 2 adult females are in the home) to not see it as competition. So I will be praying for your situation.

    My 5 dreams
    1- Salvation for my prodigal husband that brings Him into the amazing testimony God is making in his life.
    2-The complete restoration of my marriage along with remarriage.
    3-Salvation of my daughter and that she will know how much God loves her.
    4-Share the testimony God has created in me in churches, Bible studies, and wherever God leads.
    5-This one has been buried for a long time and I think I might be crazy but I’d like to go to flight school and get a pilot’s license.

    Lynn, this topic of dreaming is something I have been struggling with, I want to DREAM!!!!!
    1- that I may walk in the confidence of knowing that I am the daughter of the one true King.
    2- to grow closer to Him to where I am turning to Him for all my needs.
    3-for my kids to be on fire for the Lord
    4- for healing…I need my broken heart to be healed, I want to believe that I am worthy
    5- for a God loving husband that I can share my life with…I want to walk down an aisle in a white dress and see someone waiting for me at the alter!!!!!!

    Who knew-right here in September we would have a chance for a New Year- a new beginning! Writing out these dreams has been a wonderful exercise this morning. It has been an exercise in gratitude also, as I look at how God has blessed my life. So here goes:
    1. To wake up each morning craving more of Jesus and His Word, keeping my eyes on Him and wallowing in His extravagant love all day.
    2. To love and cherish my wonderful husband in a deeper way, never ceasing to pray for, believe for and expect him to come to know and fall in love with my Jesus.
    3. To have a clear mind-able to discern God’s will for every area of my life and to have restored health and energy to pursue the path He has set before me, serving in His name wherever He leads.
    4. To have the skill, the will and the energy to bring order to my home and my life.
    5. To have a big, comfortable home where family and friends, and the ‘family-less’ and the ‘friend-less’ feel welcome, find rest and something good to eat??, and experience the amazing love of my Jesus!

    God has given me many dreams-some have been fulfilled the others I am learning/trying to live in His patience to be fulfilled. God gave me a dream a long time ago where He showed me (clearly) that only He can and will change my husband into a goodman.I believe God made the point to me in the dream that only He can change my husband so I will keep my mouth closed and heart open. I ask God that I will live in His Anointing and follow/be His fruit inside and out. That all my children will be Holy Spirit fruit filled people.That the people they marry will also be filled with the Holy Spirit and live in His sweet fruit- and they will also have a good sense of humor.     I don’t know that anyone comes back to reread but I would just like to post a praise report in hopes that others will find great encouragement through these words as they continue to walk their paths.
    I am blown away at the blessings God just DUMPED ON ME? Ashamedly I confess that this seems to be the way I am impressed MOST? When I am either broken QUICKLY and unexpectedly or lifted to SOARING HEIGHTS so fast it leaves me spinning in wonder at what the heck just happened here?
    hhmmm. Another way to explain that would be…”SUDDENLY.”
    1. Suddenly I received belated birthday present that was so personally thought through it touched me to the CORE.
    2. Suddenly my husband shared that lately he has been thinking his retirement destination will be Prince Edward Island. His home which he said he would NEVER return to live on. I on the other hand through a grade 6 project fell in love with this island and God has made it feel like my heaven on earth deep in my soul.
    3. Suddenly after almost 4 years of working away from home and only travelling back on weekends then every other weekend the past year my husband got a transfer BACK to the base where our home town is situated but what was REALLY astounding is that this base is in a hiring, posting freeze so no jobs have been open for a while but with my prayer partners the heavens opened and provided. As my husband shared the story of his transfer (which he surprised me with the news of this as a belated anniversary gift) I personally could see God’s hand working in the events that unfolded supernaturally causing circumstances to CHANGE for our benefit. His Divine Plan unfolding.
    4. Suddenly I have just been offered a free flight to Calgary to meet my friend and her husband at the Bible College Community they are currently attending to experience the atmosphere they are living in now. When she first started telling me about their arrival here my soul just YEARNED to live it and without telling her that, God spoke to their Spirit and this incredible offer has landed in my hands.
    5. Suddenly…God is unfolding dreams.
    I only share all this in hopes to encourage everyone that even when we feel stuck, like things aren’t moving, like this is going to take forever, when that whisper pulls our mind, body and soul off course, our Anchor we hold on to WILL lift us UP out of the stagnant waters and into the FLOWING freshness of the Holy Spirit to be rejuvenated by Him, through Him and in Him.
    Keep Praying Warriors. Be encouraged that they ARE stirring up the Heavenlies and causing SUCH Chaos with the opposing force!
    Greater is He who is IN US than he who is in this world.

    Joanne! That’s so wonderful!! You know I was listening to a wise woman speak the other day that things may move along more slowly than we would like because God has to wait for people to listen to His kind nudging. The right people have to be in the right place at the right time. However we all know we have free will and as Lynn stated in her most event post (9/28) we need to be obedient to Him. So the more we are obedient the more God can do His work through us so others dreams might be fulfilled!
    I recently attended a funeral of a very profound person. Her best friend got up to speak and told a tale about a pebble skipping and dropping in a pond. The ripple effect. This is how God uses us and the people around us to make our dreams happen!!
    So wonderful and excited you shared these SUDDEN miracles with us!

    I started my list and then life got in the way. So today when I aw your post I had to send my list because I am so excited to be a part of this. Thank you Lynn and thank you Lord Jesus for giving us the chance to focus on you and our creativity.
    My five (the entire list is longer ) are:
    1. Salvation for my husband, step daughters and families, sister and family, dad.
    2. Be more like Jesus each day.
    3. Be the catalyst for a Bible teaching church in my community and teach a Bible study.
    4. Open a meal ministry for those in my community. Like an old fashioned soup kitchen.
    5. Write a book about my chickens and how they have taught me God’s truths.

    I am so encouraged by this. I laid my dreams on a shelf a long time ago, and thought I’d forgotten even how to dream. But today, I choose to take them down off the shelf and believe God for them – and MORE!!!
    1. My husband’s salvation and complete babtism of the Holy Spirit for him. That he may love and serve God all the days of his life.
    2. The salvation of my 4 children, their spouses, and my 11 grandchildren.
    3. That we would all worship God together, pray together, attend church together, and be united in Christ together, so that we would serve the Lord all the days of our lives.
    4. That God would bless my PartyLite business even more, and that I would be a blessing to all that I meet everyday. Also that I would have Godly influence with those I lead.
    5. Lord, you gave me a vision years ago of our home being lit up with your light, and that people on the highways and byways of life would be drawn to it for healing and hope. Let it come to pass as you have said Lord.

    Wow – I wrote my dream list out last week, but hadn’t read this post yet. So amazing. God is just flat out amazingly amazing! (you can see why I’m not a writer! lol). My dreams given from and given to God!
    1) My girls salvation and growing, close, relationship with our Lord.
    2) My husband’s salvation
    3) money to fix up the house
    4) money and a plan to pay off student loans so I can focus on being a Mom
    5) find a Godly female mentor
    6) clarity on the dream to help terminally ill children and their families.
    7) a deep desire to study HIS word daily and grow in my relationship with Him.
    8) clarity in hearing the HS speak and BOLDness to move and share when He says to move. I want to be obedient.
    God, you are God. You spoke this world into existence, you gave me these dreams and you can do all things. Thank you father, thank you for caring that very much about me – little ole me- that you would answer one of these hopes within 2 hours of me writing it. Help me Lord to find time to be in your word daily so I can grow closer to you. Use Make Help me to decipher your promptings and be BOLD in speaking with others. I love you Lord. Amen
