Woo Hoo!!! I’m home. My friends, I love to visit family but I also am so happy to come home. I visited my mother in Grand Junction, CO. My daughter, son and his girlfriend joined us. My mom’s tiny house was filled with people. We had 10 days, crammed-packed with adventures. Below is a photo I took while we rafted the Colorado River. Can you see the Bald Eagle in the tree with its young?

Anyhoo, while visiting I attended Canyon View Church and met June Fellhauer who was the guest speaker. She Rocked it. My visit with her was a divine appointment. God has impressed upon me to share her insights. So, we are going to take a journey through time. 

We will visit some of our favorite people in the Bible while on our voyage. We will also visit some who are obscure and talk about some pretty deep spiritual truths. At the end of our travels we will understand with new revelations our vital role in the Kingdom of God. We will see things differently and we will understand why we struggle in our relationship with God at times. And what’s exciting is we will learn how we can turn that around and live in the power and authority of Christ. 

We will do great things. GREAT THINGS! 

All for Him. 

Finally we will grasp something fantastic. God’s Kingdom come to earth. We will recognize when He moves in our lives. We will see miracles. We will be vessels of His healing, real Biblical healings. We will see people saved from an eternity in hell. And we will understand how we, the ordinary people of God, are interracially involved. We will have God’s healing power and ability to love people and change lives in the power and name of Jesus. 

God has called this community to step up and step out. So get ready my friends for one of the most astonishing explorations you have ever walked with the Lord. This summer you will leave this journey changed. 

Let’s get started then.

I have a single question for you to ponder today: 

Do you have a royalty mentality or a poverty perspective?

 

Be honest with yourself as you answer because this is where we start. 

Now in the comments I want you to leave me your answer. There is NO JUDGMENT in this place, only love. Your honest assessment will bring healing and truth that God is desperate for you to have. 

Tell me what immediately came into your mind as your answer. If you don’t understand this questions or whatever your thoughts, share with me in the comments. 

More than anything I’m asking you today to commit to Jesus to travel this summer to the conclusion of our quest. Commit to remain faithful to the process and revelations ahead of you. So leave a comment with your answer, your thoughts, prayers and then tell me….

    Unfortunately, to be honest, I have a poverty perspective. The reason being, I am so down on myself. Which is crazy, I am a daughter of the King. I love you my friend, and I’m in!!

    Unfortunately I tend to have a poverty perspective I am very critical of myself and sometimes feel like I can never measure up to be the Christian I should be. I know that is in correct thinking . I keep reminding myself I am a child of the King. I am definitely in!

    I have been intentionally calling on power, but am still working on it. When faced with a worry or challenge, I tell myself that I am a princess, daughter of The King. I’m in. Sounds fun.

    I’m both. Some days I beat myself up pretty bad – because no one can be harder on me than me, and other days I break my arm patting myself on the back.

    Truth be known I would have to say 95% of the time I have a poverty perspective even though I totally understand and know this NOT to be true in a financial or spiritual way. I am SO IN Lynn!!! <><

    To first answer your question, I had mixed feelings and I believe that I am both at times. There are days I am flying high and think that I am pretty awesome, then there are days when I don’t even like looking in the mirror. I think most days though, I act like a princess (probably a spoiled one) I think that’s largely due to the fact my dad always called me his little princess. Ha Ha. Either way, I think that both mentalities can be bad, when they are extreme. Cannot wait for friday….I am so in… 😉

    I would have to say that I have a poverty perspective. Over the years I have had to deal with a lot of rejection and that can make me feel like I am not very important. I know that isn’t true, but I still struggle with it sometimes. I am in! 🙂

    I have to say I’m in both camps; how I’d love to ditch the poverty issue but it keeps drawing me in. I know who I am in Christ I would love to have more Victory on a day to day basis. I’m in!!

    I’m not sure I completely understand the question, BUT, I would say I’m somewhere in the middle. I thought first of the royalty mentality – but in my mind, there’s conceit there and I feel guilty, and that the poverty perspective is more where I’d like to be, but I’m not there either. Maybe I’m completely misunderstanding the question…. The fact is, as you can see, I totally waver in every decision I make, so I hope to find some assurance that the direction I’m taking is the direction I’m led from above! Looking forward to your teaching!

    Poverty perspective, I think, because the presence of the Holy Spirit seems to elude me. I received Christ as a child, was a prodigal on occasion, and am not yet at the place I want to be in my relationship with Christ. However, I confess my sins daily and have prayed continuously asking to receive the Holy Spirit. I never feel aware of His presence. Why does It elude me? So many other Christian women I know radiate the Holy Spirit and I want what they have. It makes me wonder if God denies me for some reason. To me, this is my greatest spiritual poverty.

    I know that we are supposed to have that mentality and can tell other people who they are in Christ and mean it from the bottom of my heart. But…when I apply it to myself, it is so much harder to convince myself of it, I think because I know what I’ve done and what goes through my mind. I totally KNOW all the right answers, it’s the application in my own life that I have not figured out how to surrender to.

    I guess I have a poverty perspective in view of the fact that we are to become poor in spirit so He can fill us with himself. I know God is for us. I know He loves us. I know He gives us what we need. I know He wants to grow us. I have faith that He will take care of me and do what is best for me. Praise God. I love Him so!!

    I hope you don’t mind me jumping in here, but I have had the same feelings. I think the Spirit comes to different people in different ways. 1 Kings 19:11-12 strikes me… Even to Elijah, God spoke in a whisper. Enjoy your Faith. Focus on shining Light for others. You may find the Spirit is there whispering to you. And a whisper is a very intimate way to communicate.

    Very interesting question! I know I am seated in the heavenlies and I’m a child of the King but I also know I am to be a servant. We need to remember who we are in Christ and not think less of ourselves than we ought but at the same time not think too highly either!     We have been discussing this very point in our church for the last few months. I believe I have more of a royalty mentality but as the others have said it is very easy to forget. I am in and am truly looking forward to the discussion over the next few weeks from a very cold Southern Australia. In reply to Darlene, I believe that as we continue in the scriptures and ask God for His wisdom and understanding, and are honest with ourselves and God, we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit more and more. This has certainly been true in my own life as i continually work out my salvation with fear (holy reverence) and trembling and when I draw near to God He draws near to me Philippians 2:12 and James 4:8.     I have a royal mentality. I have come to understand that I’m the daughter of the King.. I know that I’m created in the image of God. I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m precious in his sight. I’m holy and blameless before God. I am God’s masterpiece. I have to admit that I don’t always wake up saying this, but when I start to doubt myself I have these truths written down to remind me of how special I am to God and that He created me for a purpose and that I already have the victory regardless of my circumstances. I’m coming from place of humility because I know that I’m nothing without Christ.

    My immediate response was not that I have a poverty perspective, rather a “poverty mentality”, as I seem to be so negative about my present and future life-status…retirement with a spirtually mismatched mate of 42 years does NOT look very “rich”…there doesn’t seem to be anything “forward” about it…only treading water. Yes, I will continue with my devotions and volunteer ministries which feed my soul, but I don’t see much “togetherness” with my spouse in the years ahead.

    Royalty mentality. Never have I felt that so strongly. I could feel the tide turning…but it’s really just in the last few days that something clicked BIG TIME. I lived for years and years thinking I’d done too many horrible things to ever walk with my head up, and follow Jesus – 100% – no matter what He asked (or at least try to…I am human!). Because honestly, what if He asked something that only a Christian who hadn’t goofed up should be doing…well, I’d have to say no…and that wouldn’t be good…so better just to lie low. Or how could I truly accept all He had for me when I had no one at home to back me up spiritually? I couldn’t be much use to the Kingdom with all those issues. God got me out of that thinking I had become so used to. : )
    (I hope that made sense – hard to sum it up in a few sentences!) : )
    I can’t wait to read this series!

    This is a great question to ponder. Most days I feel like royalty. BUT there are also those days, that the slithering enemy gets into my thought life and bamm I am right back to the old poverty self, where I don’t feel the Lords presence. Hate being there, but truth it still happens, and I believe it always will on this side of heaven….I think too, it has to do with really surrendering and letting God control all areas of my life.. which I am working at..     I have been a “lurker” on this site for a few months, but have never commented. SUM has been such a blessing to me and God is calling me to share today. I definitely live with Royalty Mentality. Through numerous trials in my life God has always shown up for me in a BIG way! My mother died when I was a senior in high school. I lost my only sibling, my little brother, when he unexpectedly passed away from complications from pneumonia at the young age of 21. To this day I watch my father try to overcome his addiction to alcohol. Through all this, God has given me strength to persevere and calls me to be the light in the lives of all those around me. I feel His overwhelming love for me and know that I am Royalty in His eyes. I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 13 years. He has been by my side through all my trials. I am still waiting for him to join me on my journey with God. I know God is faithful and am blessed to be one of his “princesses!” Thank you for allowing me to join you on this journey at SUM! It was the first answer that popped into my mind and when I thought about it, I realized that was my answer. I want to read all the responses, but cannot right now as I am at work.     I believe I have the poverty perspective. All of my life, I suffered from shame and guilt that weighed heavy on my heart. Last year, God called me to walk with Him. Since then, He has done some major healing in my heart and I no longer carry the weight of my past with me. However, I guess some old habits die hard. I’m really struggling to be obedient in an area of my life and my lack of self control and discipline has taken me back down that road of not believing I’m good enough to accomplish what God is asking of me.

    After many years of not knowing who I am, I finally discovered it, and yes, I have a royalty mentality – -I am a King’s kid.
    Less I sound puffed up with pride, my I quickly say that, we all fall short some days because we are still dripping in flesh, and can fall prey to the enemy’s tactic of “do you really believe that stuff?”

    Royal Mentality, for many different reasons. 1. usually my first reaction to problems is that “of course it will turn out ok”. 2. I am finally starting to really understand, that just by the shear luck of being born in the US, I have abundant resources available to me. Resources that I want to learn how manage exceptionally well for the Kingdom 3. As a princess of the king, I feel the weight of responsibilities and expectations to full fill.
    Now, I may know that I am a daughter of a king, but that doesn’t keep me from being a “royal mess” 🙂

    Dee. Married as long as you and God changed something in her so profoundly
    that her husband was affected. He started to read the Bible with her. Never,

    Hi Lynn…..
    I feel as Darlene does in her July 9th post that somehow the Holy Spirit eludes me too. Some days I feel on top of the world and that the Holy Spirit indeed, does live in me yet, most days I do not feel like a child of God and get lost all over again. I know God loves me and calls me His “precious child,”however, the “feelings” just are not there. I have been walking the Christian walk for just four years now, and it is so hard with an unsaved family. I am looking forward to Friday and I am definitely in!! Love you and the way you help us all with your wonderful devotions and I praise God for His work through you. Blessings, Lynn T.

    I have a poverty perspective because I tend to think (although its a lie from the enemy) that a work in progress cannot be royalty yet! I am a princess of the King, God’s daughter so…I’m in! Excited to Rock the world!

    My first thought honestly was a poverty perspective. But then I thought, no you are having more and more of a royalty mentality, but it’s a journey and I definitely started with a poverty perspective, especially of myself. My initial thought shows me that I still have a lot of work to do though. So…………I’M IN!!!!!!!! 🙂

    hello sarah – I too want to hug you – I admire deeply your faith walk – God is crowning you with glory and will shower you with His pure glory in heaven for ever and for ever and for ever……………..
    maybe you wont have togetherness with your spouse, but you have togetherness with God, and that is much more………….and never gets dirty or disappointed and you never tread water with God, He is the Great I Am!
    do you know the song: you raise me up? yes, dear Sarah, God shall raise you up!
    it makes me also so sad to see our spouses be so naive and silly, and live without their Jesus, but, it is each persons personal decision. That is one reason why I love God – He is pure and holy and allmighty and yet………he allows us to choose.
    So…..I wish and pray for you that from today and until you meet your King, Jesus, that you shall always be able to dry your tears and receive strength in your knees after praying to stand up and walk straight in the wisdom of knowing: Jesus Christ El Schaddai – is more than enough….more ….and you shall not stumber or fall, your God is under you and above you, behind you and before you and most of all IN you, be richly blessed through our Lord Jesus Christ, dear sister in faith, Sarah,

    Lynn Tyndall, hope you don’t mind if I send special hugs to you. “Feeling” both deprived of the Holy Spirit and spiritual oneness in marriage is a double-whammy. While I don’t desire that anyone else feel this way, I appreciate your courage to share. I am glad we have found this site and will be traveling this journey together.     I have a Royal Mentality the longer I walk in the Lord the stronger I get! I have days when I will wander into a poverty perspective then I remind myself I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and I was CHOSEN before the foundations of the Earth. The one verse that brings me back always is, Jer 29:11-13 pretty hard to have a proverty perspective when you meditate on that promise! I’m in!

    I would have to say that most days I try (try being the optative word here) to have the royalty mentality, where I feel like I stand 10 feet tall in Christ, although there are days that I can barely stand or even kneel or anything in between. I am IN! I love this group and until today I have stood on the sidelines watching, reading and absorbing all the goodness that comes from you all. I look forward to this journey and hope that I will have a closer walk with God because of it!
