Today it is gloomy, foggy, cold and raining. The winter appears to be relentless. I know many of us hit the winter blues about now. Thoughts of backyard BBQ’s, flowers in the garden and green grass thrill our hearts.
However, I am not quite ready to release winter. Did you know it is in the winter that a tree’s roots push deeper into the soil? It is strengthened through the months of harsh cold and when spring arrives, the full spender of its leaves is displayed.
It is also true of our lives. We need the winter.
Lord, if is often difficult to thank you when we are struggling in the winter. However, it is the beauty of a changed heart, a strengthened character and a wholeness of our spirit that makes winter a season to be thankful for. I thank you for the winter. In Jesus name, Amen.
Be Blessed, Lynn
