Stop in Thursday because I have a special story to share. It is a genuine true story of a woman who decided to trust God when it didn’t make sense. The ending is unbelievable.

I have a question for you today to write in your journal. We will discuss it further on Friday.

What are you feeding your brain?

    Gods inspired word.. Which is God speaking to me. I’m dwelling on the fact that he loves me and is jealous of me.. As woman we know how imprtant it is to feel that kind of all consuming love. I was really scolded yesterday by a Sister in Christ for saying I still have HOPE for Mark and I. How can I not have hope that the Lord develop our character and one day brings about reconciliation. Is not God a God of reconciliation? I’m wanting and desire God above all else and I know all things are for my good. Am I wrong in having faith for Mark one day if the Lord wills? I wnt God’s plan above my own – but God knows the desires of my heart…To me he is my Daddy. His heart breaks when my heart breaks. I can’t understand not having a hope in restoration. I do understand that Mark is not mine to try and manipulate into loving me. I can’t do anything in my own strength but NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR OUR GOD! Thats whats on my mind…. 🙂 I’m sorry ladies… just reaching out for TRUTH!

    Is anyone else experiencing a purging? I feel like I am on some type of detox program or something. Lots of negative thoughts and emotions coming to the surface. Seems like the Lord is saying for me to look at the situation for EXACTLY what it is, no sugar-coating and FORGIVE on that level. Not on the “it’s not so bad” or “he can’t help it” level, but the everyone has choices and these are his. God loves us, but hates our sin and he does not look at sin with rose colored glasses.
    I know Jesus is here with me in this place, but right now I am being pressed and what is coming out is not what I expected.
    Thank you Lynn, for listening to the Lord and stepping out in faith with this challenge. He is working everything together for our good. Praying for you guys!

    Hi Bridget,
    I can tell you I am experiencing this purging
    thing too. There are some things I need to remove
    from my life. How amazing it is to let the Father
    change us into Christ likeness. I can’t wait to
    see the new people we are becoming. Have a

    Lynn & Bridget… right there with you both. So far today since reading this not too long ago (wanted to share before my day got too busy to take the moment & share here – but will still hopefully write in my journal later) I’d like to share a positive thought for the day that came into my inbox: !!:
    “The Lord is close to the borkenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” -Psalm 34:18
    Thank You Jesus!! AMEN!
    Scripture is always helpful to overcome the negative thoughts the enemy tries to confuse me with. … then I thought of this one to share:
    “For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, …” -1 Corinthians 14:33

    Hello Ladies!
    Yes.. God is definitely purging..the LORD woke me at 3:16 a.m. Of course I thought of John 3:16 so I got up and went to the living room for alone time in His Word…but not before kneeling & praying for God to help me let HIM do what He needs to do in me…
    Well, interestingly enough He had me review prior journal notes I had taken in a separate journal & HE had me focus on SANCTIFICATION.. the process of becoming holy in daily life; practicing purity and being set apart from the world and from sin.
    Through additional reading the LORD has confirmed to me that He’s calling me to an initial 3 day FAST..one small step towards that process that allows HIM access to expose those things, those hidden sins that are displeasing to HIM…motives, desires, attitudes etc..
    I’m a bit nervous to be honest..but I know this is going to be humbling & will allow God to mold & shape me.
    I’m excited to see all that God is going to be doing through this journey..God bless you all!

    Wow Lynn and Bridget, me too! I’m definitely experiencing this purging. The Lord seems to be bringing every sin of mine to the surface for me to look it directly in the eye–because only then can I ask Him for forgiveness.
    This morning I woke up horrified because I felt utterly hopeless, as if I did not have a loving Father in heaven. I felt like an unbeliever. (I am a very new believer, despite having been in and out of the church all my life–I never truly believed until a few months ago.) So I woke up scared and wondering what was going to happen to me now because I no longer believed.
    But even in my unbelief I heard His voice telling me that it is only my flesh that doesn’t believe, and only because that’s what it’s used to. He had me bow to Him 100 times and when I was done, I felt His glorious presence around and within me once again! Praise Him!
    Holly, HUGS to you! Many have gone through what you are experiencing, and only the Lord Himself has the truth that you need. Seek Him and ask Him directly what His plan is; He has a reason for everything, which is usually to bring us closer to Him. Once you have His truth, you cannot be pushed into hopelessness by anything that any other person says to you.

    Purging is an awesome word to use for this. I feel like I’ve been packing so much garbage under some dirt & then planting flowers so no one notices the garbage. It feels like we’re going to unearth & destroy the garbage so all that’s left is healthy dirt and beautiful flowers…but He isn’t playing it soft here. I have most definitely had to get some dirt on my hands & get in there with Him. And this is only day 5… sheesh…

    Wow! I have a few comments here. First, What do I fill my brain with? God’s Word of course. However, He has been showing me in the last couple days where I spend time in “mindless” activities. I do need the downtime but I should be going to Him for refreshing rather than to these activities for numbing!
    In regards to the purging – I too have noticed this in the past few days. The activities I mentioned above only being one area. It is like a time of purging and refining for me right now.
    I also want to thank everyone for their encouraging comments. Without realizing it you have been confirmation from God regarding next Monday’s post. I had asked God to guide my words but was second guessing what I was going to write next week. However, these comments above are very clear confirmation the Lord is orchestrating all of this!

    Holly,
    Hoping in God is never wrong. It is EXACTLY what we are called to do. Hopelessness is the state of an unbeliever, but for a believer, we are NEVER without hope for anything that we are seeking that is within God’s Will. Not ever. Be encouraged, sweet sister.
    As for my day 5, this is a time of purging for me too, and it’s actually in an unexpected way. One of the biggest battles ever for me is my weight and I have really struggled to understand what makes it feel so impossible to cross this hurdle. The Lord has shown me and this month is a key in the process of overcoming that. He’s purging me of the lingering wrong attitudes about my beauty. His timing is amazing. Can’t wait to see what this looks like in the end.

    That question Lynn gets really to the heart of the matter. Fro me I have been feeding a lot of anxiety, worry and negative thoughts. I have been seeking to be more positive and to trust but I think due to difficult challenges I have been focusing on my circumstances yet I say out loud, He is in charge, He is in control. I need to fully undergo this purging and continually allow God to work in me. I need these negative chains to be broken.
    Holly I really can relate to your heartache, just wanted to let you know that, so you may know you are not alone. Keep that hope especially since it is grounded in our Lord. May He guide your thoughts. Heather thank you for the Psalm verse, it lifted me up and I really needed the lifting.

    I was praying yesterday about this “journey”, that God would be glorified in my life. That I would see Him. If there be anything in me that does not bring Him glory, that He would make it known to me.
    Last night i sat down to watch a movie. A PG-13 movie. Instantly God spoke to me and said,”If you won’t let your children watch this movie, why are you watching it?”
    Just because I’m an adult doesn’t mean that watching unwholesome garbage is OK!
    I’m sad to say that I went ahead and watched the movie. It was horrible!
    so today, i went on netflix and took off all of the PG-13 movies on our list. Only G and PG are left on there.
    If I truly want to take this seriously and place Jesus on the throne in my life and to become more Christ-like, then I need to listen to His voice when He speaks. I want to feed my brain on His voice, His word!!

    I also am experincing purging, God is saying: Out with the negative, in with the positive. Feed more on Me, and my Word, and less on the world. Fill up on me, empty the world. I love you Denise, I love you.

    I;ve been hanging on heavy and hard to 2 Timothy 2:13 when we are faithless, he is faithful…for he cannot deny himself. I love how good he to his children even in the midst of our own faithlessness. He is always true to his character. Still struggling with some pride at bending my knee in the morning, but still following through on the action knowing that he will change my heart.

    6He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life. 7He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son.
    This is really ringing true to me right now. I’m lovin this. God is so… GOD.

    Hi my name is Sheila and I am a friend of Holly’s. She printed off the paper work for me to read and I am excited about joining this group. I am a believer my husband is not a believer. My husband and I are currently seperated. I am living in my parents attic…I try to tell myself thank God that I have provision. I have a job, roof over my head, and my children and I have food to eat. My parents are christians so that helps. My husband and I are seperated because he has a drinking problem and is very verbally abusive. We are going to marriage counseling. Of course my first and foremost prayer request is that my husband to be saved. In this seperation I have come to see that I have had a hard time loving him the way that God would have me to love him. I have alot of things that God desires to change in me. I take it one day at a time, so any prayers will be welcomed for me and my family. Thank you ladies. I dont have internet at my parents home so I may not be able to post daily but will try.

    purging/refining/ All great words to describe this process………. I find its a great beginning of my day to actually bow down by my bed and give up my authority over my life and allow God to be on the throne….. I’m excited to get to know the new ME after this journey! What an amazing thought to have the mind of Christ and be CHANGED………….I can only say WOW…. I’m so excited that Sheila has joined us. I found this site while searching for inspiration for her situation. I love her not only as my Sister in Christ but I believe her to truly be MY SISTER! Thank you once again Lynn!

    I guess I have been feeding my brain a lot of negativity. Dwelling on how I’ve been hurt by others, especially recently by church members. We’re only on day five and I am not dwelling on these things any more. Being more in the Word and prayer has helped a lot.

    Good Morning ladies its 1:30 am, I have to wait until the whole house is asleep to concentrate on these questions, as soon I said what do I feed my brain out loud I heard, a lot of stuff. I asked again, I heard the same thing. My daughter happened to hear and she said, I would knowledge because you are always reading. I have noticed a couple of differences lately.
    1. When I am waking up Prayer is immediately on my mind.
    2. Conviction of the Holy Spirit regarding treatment of other.
    Example: When I went into the dollar store this man was in there I had I could tell by his appearance he was probably not going to smell that well, He did not. I could not get away from him,,,, later when driving to work I heard the Holy Spirit tell me My heart was wrong! I felt terrible.
    The second time was while I was at work, a parent came in and I felt I had been harsh not really meaning to. When I got home I was prompted to pray for her that her heart be softened and not offended. When I asked her about to day, she had not perceived anything.
    Along with the other conversation, My husband and I are also being called by the Old School, being more Christ Centered in our lives. Consecration has been on heart as well.
    To the women seeking Truth regarding her husband, mine is a witness the Power of Praying Wife and Time spent doing is not WASTED! He will be won by YOUR testimony and behavior! Read what the word says, HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOT SANCTIFY YOUR HUSBAND BY YOUR WORDS AND DEEDS! (PARAPHRASING) Also you can claim that as you and your house you will serve that Lord! Begin to call those things that be not as though they were!
    Be encouraged its gonna be good!

    Wow Ladies! I am so inspired by not only the posts but your comments.
    Sheila, I feel your pain. I went through a very similar experience several months ago. After leaving my husband the first place I went was back to church and after a whole lifetime of in and out I felt the real true presence of God, I felt like I was being called home. I was wrapped up in a warm, never-ending embrace and it has changed my life. God can do the greatest things and we can’t even imagine them! My husband is six months sober, attends church and is developing a personal relationship with Christ, and we are in the process of truly healing our marriage…while living under the same roof! Don’t lose heart. PRAY, PRAY, PRAY!
    I have to be honest that asking today’s question to myself and God is not something I really want to do! Offhand I identify strongly with Angela and Rosheeda. Guess we will see what God has to say!

    Wow, isn’t it amazing what the Lord has done? So many of us are experiencing the same thing, this cleansing. I’m not even in a spiritually unequal marriage and I’m not even sure how I found this blog, but His work is definitely going on here.
    As far as what I feed my brain…I’ve only just begun to fill it with God’s Word and more importantly, His presence.
    Up until very recently, I was like a dog who eats its own vomit (Proverbs 26:11), feeding my brain the same old recycled garbage of hopelessness and negativity day after day. Inside my mind and body it really felt like a black hole or a vortex leading straight to Hell. But all it takes is God’s Presence to transform Hell into Heaven. Inside of my mind and body, when I am focused on Him, now feels more like the Garden of Eden, with God strolling about among the beautiful trees. Praise the Lord!

    Several weeks ago I began to pray for the Lord to be first in my life, at that time I felt the Lord pressing me to prepare for battle if I was truly serious and every day since then I have been in a Spiritual battle and feeling alot like what you guys are stating here… purging ect. Its quite ugly and I actually did a post about it on my blog several days ago.. but anyhow what I found on my brain was the following… Junk… not good enough..jealousy for the joy I see in others who are constantly happy lovey dovey with their family(not thats bad just I am jealous of it)while I am here far from perfect… feeling inadequate and confusion to who I am as a person, wife, mom.

    This whole process for me has been hard @ times b/c I like to be in control and to have a plan. Recently, my plans have been falling apart, but I am learning that God’s plans are better.
    To answer the most important question, recently, I have been feeding my brain negative facts via the media. This is why I struggle with contentment and having faith in God’s plans coming together in my life. So, throughout this journey, I will focus on feeding my brain positive facts to strengthen my faith and encourage me to be content.

    Hi ladies
    I’m going a little up and down through the different days in answering in the comments…..As i said i think the 1st day i see this as a follow-up process The Lord put me in……
    I believe he wants me to be more aware of Him in my life and following Him more conciousely and consistently…..
    I remember i asked why ( like a spoiled child) In those 7 days with the LOAM ladies at Lisa Shaw.
    And i hear HE WANTS me to be how He sees me…..and make me THE BEST help meet and mother for my kids on the 1st place and second He has big plans for an ministery for my husband….And both of us needs to grow strong in the Lord.
    I had no un-equal marriage but both of us where-luke-warm christians…and around 4 years ago i was brought to my knees and start giving control of our life to the Lord and start praying for my dh’s…
    The book i used was mentioned by one of you ladies….My testimony know is that i was praying without knowing what i was praying really…..
    God showed me that because when my dh’s started to change 2 years ago and gave his life COMPLETELY….God began to use Him amazingly!!
    And i was looking again at it 1st with unbelieve and than like a spoiled child (again)Why God you are using Him like that and you are not using me????? God started showing what surrendering completely means……i never know or better said i never dare to….!!
    So as one of the ladies was asking if there are more who feel a purging…..That is what i feel clearly…..
    A major for me is procastrination( is this the good eng word?? i mean extending and extending and running away instead of facing things….) in different area’s in the physical real and in the spiritual…….
    This is getting long i believe friday in the discussion i will come back unto this…
    I’m feeding my brain as much as possible with things concerning Gods word…..On the moment reading a lot of christian blogs…
    2 weeks ago i start reading the book Restoration from Neil Anderson.
    And i was feeding my brain worry about my kids there spiritual growth and negative thinking about racing my kids So to TURN THIS AROUND i’m praying the prayers for a praying parent from Stormie Omartian….
    I’m still very distracted in doing it consistently and full heartedly……
    But in all of this i am so greatfull that i experienced today Jesus just right by my side holding my hand and capturing my heart!
    It brought me to tears

    Thank you ladies for all your encouraging thoughts and comments. Before I started reading them I answered Lynn’s ? ” What am I feeding my brain?…..with…Useless T.V., Guilty thoughts, Controling thoughts, Worry, Doubtful thoughts, If onlys……Yea buts…..OUCH!!! Purging? I should say so! Thank you for reminding me to fill my brain with God’s Word and not “mindless activities”. I do read everyday BUT…am I listening? Hmmmm Yes Dear Lord, Help me to be still and know that YOU are God. Help me to see myself as you do and to hear you. Love you all!
