This is Gina. She is a 17 year old high school Junior. And today, Tuesday, June 5th is a day where her entire life could change forever.
Why is God bringing Gina to our community today? What is her miracle?
More than a year ago God began to push me about. “Lynn, I’m waiting for you, Dineen and the entire community of SUM to do a great work for me.”
Gulp!
Let me tell you that I didn’t want to listen. I had an inkling of what God may have wanted after our enormous success from the Kingdom assignment several years ago. However, I felt unprepared to follow through. I felt awkward asking our community to join us. However, a few months ago God began to point out some areas in my character that needed work. And it’s been quite a journey. I have so much to talk with you about how God is revealing His perspective in my life.
Stay tuned because those stories are worth a visit. In fact, I’m going to tell my first story next Monday. It’s about a pit-bull, the devil and those various Shades of Grey (pun intended) that we grapple with in our faith walk.
As God pushed me to new places, this thing about being part of His miracles would not leave my mind. So today, in awe of our King, I’m asking our community to join with me and Dineen and be part of a real miracle.
And today’s miracle is Gina.
This is Gina. She is a 17 year old Junior. And today, Tuesday, June 5th is a day where her entire life could change forever.
Why is God bringing Gina to our community today? What is her miracle?
Last week while inserting her contact lenses, Gina discovered a tiny bump on her eye. She mentioned the pain to her mother who then insisted Gina visit her doctor that day to be examined.
Sitting in the doctor’s office alone, the news was potentially devastating. Frightening in the least. They suspect melanoma.
My friends, this is terrifying to face as a child or a parent and specifically to me as my brother died after a long and ugly battle with this cancer. I’m moved further in that Gina is my daughter’s best friend. They have been inseparable since their Freshman year. I also find it fascinating in that I’ve been asking God for a month now for our miracle person. Little did I know that our person and miracle would be so close to home.
So here is Gina’s miracle. Today, June 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific, Gina will be sitting in the specialist’s office for a consult determining exactly what this bump is and what course of action to take.
The miracle…. Let’s pray for her. Let’s show her a community of moms and dads who can speak to our Almighty God for her. Let’s cover her with words of healing and of courage. Let’s flood that Doctor’s office with prayers so powerful the roof shakes.
The miracle…. Would you write a prayer for Gina today? Would you email it to me: unequalmarriage@verizon.net. FLOOD MY INBOX with miracle prayers for Gina. I will print each one out and take them to her after her appointment. Let’s overwhelm her with love notes and prayers from strangers. But also from our SUM family.
Jesus is calling us to be His hands and feet, His voice. Please write out a prayer, even a one sentence prayer:
Dear Gina, You are loved by God…… (insert your prayer)
Sign your name.
I will take the letters to her. I will take photos of her reading them and I will be back here to share the miracle with all of you.
Pray for her healing, her heart, for courage, for her physician, for peace, for her to know Jesus.
Also, if you want to mail her a card, a photo, a note, a scripture verse, send it to me. I will take it to her and bring my camera.

I love you my friends. I don’t know how to say this but God has something planned for us, the community, through this experience. I don’t know what it is but He wants us to encounter His provision and power right along with Gina.
Let’s honor Him today. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Lynn
If you know of someone who needs a miracle and God places them on your mind and heart, write to us and let us know. Dineen and I are thinking our community can be part of other miracles from time-to-time. We will pray over each one and then ask God how we are to be part of it. Hugs, Lynn
