Hi Everyone,  Today Dineen and I will be flying to Little Rock, Arkansas. We will be meeting Dennis Rainey, President of FamilyLife and host of the syndicated broadcast, FamilyLife Today…

Hi Everyone, 

FltToday Dineen and I will be flying to Little Rock, Arkansas. We will be meeting Dennis Rainey, President of FamilyLife and host of the syndicated broadcast, FamilyLife Today as well as the co-host, Bob Lepine, Chief Content Officer. We’ve been invited to a taped interview that will be two hours long, and will be recorded at the offices in Little Rock, AR.   During that time we are privileged to discuss our latest book, “Winning Him Without Words.” 

On Tuesday we will spend the morning with the staff of FamilyLife Today in their chapel service where Max Lucado will bring the message. After that we will join the broadcast team, Max and his wife along with another guest for lunch. (I still can’t believe this)

After lunch we will head into the studio to share the hope we have for our marriage, for your marriage and for a world who needs hope through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. 

We are beyond astonished over this opportunity and filled with a humble gratitude to our Lord.   

To think we have another tremendous opportunity to reach out to another believer who feels lonely, lost and stuck in a mismatched marriage and then point them to the hope of Jesus, simply leaves me undone. 

My friends, as you may remember, I was quite nervous recording our interview at Focus on the Family. So, may I meekly ask for your prayers today? Pray that Jesus fills our hearts, minds and tongues with His words and that all nervousness will flee during our interview tomorrow. Pray for our travel and all the details that must happen. Pray for this vital ministry, FamilyLife Today, as they are reaching people with the love of Christ. 

I know many of you first found us through a radio interview through broadcasts such as Focus on the Family and The Moody Broadcast Network. Many of you found us through a desperate internet search or you found us through our book, Winning Him Without Words. 

So today, as we travel together toward Little Rock, it would thrill our hearts if you would leave in the comments how you came to find our humble community here on the web. Dineen and I will be checking in regularly and we will pray for you by name. 

We love all of you so much with a genuine heart. I long for the day that I will meet you face-to-face.

    I am so excited for the doors God is opening for this ministry. I certainly will be praying for you both this week to spread this message, as well as your “nerves.”
    How did I find you? While searching the internet for something to help me get my attitude back in shape after I had been “displined” by my grown daughters. (Think that’s not a humbling experience for the tables to turn.) And so,after getting over my pouting time of being disciplined by my own grown daughters, I went on a search for help on the internet. One search led to another and eventually your book.
    Good news: A year and a half later, my daughter said to me, “I see a change in you, Mama.” And I was able to share with her why, your book, and how it brought me to leading a group for the SUM. They are elated. To God be the glory.
    Keep on, keeping on with your message. It is changing lives and families.

    That is so awesome that you get to meet and hear the word from Max Lucado!! (A little jealous…….not really..wink) I am really happy for you guys!
    Lord, I just want to thank you so much for Lynn and Dineen with the ministry that you have called them to. I praise you and thank you for the words that you will give them during the interview. In Jesus name, I ask that you take away any nervousness or anxiety and replace it with a calming peace that only you can provide. God, I also ask that you touch the hearts of the listeners and draw them closer to you. I also pray for safe travels and ask that there be lots of laughs and great memories. In Jesus precious and Holy name, Amen.
    Now, how did I find you. I was listening to Focus on the Family and heard just a small portion of the broadcast. I wrote down the name of the book and eventually bought it. Then I came to the website and it’s been all good from there. I am thankful that I found this so early on in my marriage because before I came here, I was struggling big time and we hadn’t even been married a year. So So thankful!!!

    I’m amazed at God’s favor in your lives and I’m praying for more doors to be opened for you magnificent ladies. Be filled with the Holy Spirit and do your thing Ladies!!! I’m praying that more and more discouraged people will find you and become encouraged, inspired, and rejuvinated as I have been. Thank you for you love and dedication to serving us and Jesus.
    I found you on Focus on the Family, as well. I am walking in the same manner as Heather. Jesus swept me off my feet just 3 months after I was married. So, I tell you I struggled big time with wondering why my husband didnt see the complete 180 in my life and want to come along with me. I was so lonely and desperate. This community has given me so much hope and kept my eyes on what really matters…JESUS!!!

    So glad that God has opened up yet another opportunity for you guys to speak and for His message to be heard through you.
    Dear Father, I pray that You will go with Lynn and Dineen on this journey and keep them safe and sound. May Your Spirit give them the words that need to be spoken, that those who hear their voices will hear Your’s. I pray that through Lynn and Dineen, You will guide more mismatched wives in how to preserve and nurture their marriages and encourage their husbands to belief in Christ.     I came to discover your ministry through my internet wanderings. And I am so glad I found it. 🙂 I pray for your safe trip and arrival today.
    I would appreciate prayers, also. I, too, am going on a trip today with my family but have had a stomach bug for the last 4 days. I think I am on the downside of it (fingers crossed) but would you pray for me and my family, that we be healthy? We were supposed to take this trip a month ago but we had to reschedule due to illness at that time and I didn’t want to have to cancel yet again. I would appreciate your prayers so much. Thank you.     Amen ladies! I heard your Focus on the Family broadcast in March and ordered your book, Winning Him Without Words, right away…my husband had left me two weeks prior in a state of hopelessness, and I had no idea what was happening and was looking for any help I could get. Hearing your hope and strength for your mismatched marriages gave me hope. I believe your book helped lay the foundation for my stand for my marriage and for my husband’s salvation. Five months later and going strong, not without trials, but still with hope. I also had an acquaintance reach out to me, and describe her own mismatched marriage, and I was able to pass along your book to her, and our new friendship has become a great source of encouragement for each other. Have peace, God has placed you right where you are, to do His work! He is there giving you the words to speak, that He may be glorified. I re-found the site around June, and your devotionals have been a great blessing to me and my walk with the Lord.

    So glad my church recommended this site for SUM women. I am praying that a group will open up in my area!! I would host it myself but my husband is a drinker & smoker, of which I would not want to expose other women to especially the smoke. Praying God would hear my cry!!
    Praying for you two as you go on this very important mission!! God grant you peace and safety!! Praying that God would speak through you into many women’s lives, that we would not feel alone but that we are a community and Jesus is on our side.

    I heard you both only a couple of weeks ago on a Focus on the Family interview which was broadcast on the christian radio station I listen to in a little rural town in Australia. I haven’t read your book but was so excited to hear your stories and to discover an online community to share with! So if this interview reaches only one person like me it will have been a huge blessing and absolutely worth it! Have a great time!

    So exciting!!! Love and respect Dennis and his GOD centered teachings on parenting, marriage etc!! How cool to share time with these GODLY men and their families and be able to glean even some small wisdom to apply to your home, marriages and family.     AMAZING!!! Oh you will be touching so many more out there. I first heard you both driving and listening to MOODY Radio. My jaw dropped to the floor when Lynn was talking – I felt like someone was telling my story but Lynn had years of marriage under her belt and it gave me a vision of hope that God could get me through and see me fulfill my marriage commitment. I had just had a baby and was going through a tough time being across the country from my Christian family – I felt like I was floating out here in Florida by myself trying to do the walk on my own. But, when you both spoke…I knew I wasn’t alone. I also found a Spiritual Mismatched group right here in Fort Lauderdale and got to meet women who shared my situation. The book penetrated my heart and soul and gave me so much hope! Your blog uplifts and focuses me every week. I thank God for putting you in front of me – its turned my marriage around. My heart is softened towards my husband and I’ve released him to God and know that he is a pre-believer. I can’t wait to hear the message on Family Life! You ladies are going to blow their socks off!     I just learned of you a couple of weeks ago when you were featured on Moms in Touch. What an amazing answer to prayer!! I have been in a SUM for 15 years. He is a wonderful man, husband and father. But at times being spiritualy unequal is the most painful place to be. Until I heard of your group, I honestly thought I was the only one in this position! How good God is to open new doors of encouragement for me. I have not ordered your book yet, but believe I will do that today. As far as your interview, I am so excited for you! I definitely want to listen in.

    I am so excited for the both of you. You have been such an encourager to women like me who are unequally yoked. There are so many challenges and yet for me each day draws me to my knees as I depend fully on the Lord for strength and wisdom.     I will be praying for you! I know without a doubt God will use you in a powerful way as He already has/does for those of us walking this often difficult, turbulent path in spiritually mismatched marriages.
    I found you just through a google search, I think – of course, it was God who brought me to you. I can’t thank Him and the both of you enough. You have truly, literally been a lifeline for me in some of the darkest times of this path. I praise God and thank Him with every fiber of my being for the both of you and this wonderful, vital ministry!

    You are lifted in prayer today!
    I follow your writings and am encouraged in my marriage.
    I happened to turn the radio on in my car one day and heard you on Focus on the Family…sooo relieved that there are other women with my same issue and willing to talk about it. (I felt so alone until then.) I arrived home before the discussion had ended on the radio so I sat in my car to take it all in! Then I went to my computer to hear it in its entirety along with purchasing the book later. Both of you are a blessing!

    I first heard about your ministry listening to an inteview you did with Bob Dutko on WMUZ radio station in Detroit, MI. I went to your website that same day and signed up to start receiving your emails. I have enjoyed your articles very much. I will pray all goes well in your interview for FamilyLife Today.
    I have been meaning to write you a “real letter,” as you put it here on your website, because I really cherish the thought of having someone pray over my letter. I just haven’t taken the time needed to organize my thougths and write it all down. I guess your request to let you know how we found you gave me a push to start to reach out. I’m not sure if I’m really in an unequally yoked marrige or not. I know that may sound strange. My husband says he believes and that he’s a Christian, but his actions don’t really go along with his words. I don’t want you to misunderstand. He’s a good man and great husband. I love him more than I can express in words, he just doesn’t have much interest in spiritual things and it concerns me a great deal. At times I feel he just goes along with certain things to keep me from worrying. I will have to take the time to write that letter to see what your thoughts are.

Oh, Lord, I pray for strength, wisdom and insight as Lynn and Dineen are interviewed today! Please give them boldness and courage and give them the exact words You would like them to speak.     I happened upon your SUM site through some other story or blog I was reading one day. There was a link to your site that I followed. I can’t even remember what or whose blog I was reading at the time; I agree with those who’ve already commented they think it was actually God brought them here. Before the day I discovered this site I had no idea there were books and websites that addressed this particular situation. I was committed to my marriage, but I was SO unhappy because for one thing, I felt totally alone, and for another thing I didn’t realize I could live for Jesus when my husband wasn’t actively doing so himself. Also, I had friends who told me that if I was unhappy I should just leave the marriage, but deep down I didn’t feel that was the right thing to do. I felt caught between a rock and a hard place. I wasn’t going to divorce my husband because he was an unbeliever and I didn’t realize I could live out my faith. What a miserable place that was emotionally. Coincidentally around the same time I went to a conference that literally changed my life in terms of prayer and Bible reading. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I still struggle. But I am totally living for Jesus these days.

    I, TOO, thought I was the only one in this SUM position before I found this site! I’ve been in a SUM for 17 years (this Sunday is my 17th anniversary.) Isn’t that amazing that we didn’t realize there were others? I felt so alone! To me it says this is a reality the church as a whole hasn’t really addressed very much. I am so grateful to Lynn and Dineen for helping SUMs find a community where we can thrive and grow in our Faith! What an important ministry! By the way, I’ve read their book and it is WONDERFUL! A must read. HUGS!!!

    I found you on a search when I first got my Kindle and then ordered your book. This blog has ministered to me over and over again.
    This past Sunday my husband got up and went to church with me without me even asking. God is so good and just continues to work miracles.

    Dear Lynn and Dineen,
    May God be with you as you speak today. I will be praying for you both.
    I just wanted to tell you briefly how I came to learn about your ministry and your website. I had recently recommitted my life to Jesus Christ my Savior and I was attending the First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale for the winter. I was feeling alone and overwhelmed. I couldn’t figure out how I was going to spend the rest of my earthly life with my unbelieving husband of 27 years. Anyways I had just come home from the Sunday service, I was in the process of putting away the bulletin, and I felt led by the Holy Spirit to re-read the bulletin and this paragraph literally jumped out at me. It was an invitation to meet and have a time of fellowship with the author/authors (I’m not sure if it said you were both in attendance or not) of Winning him without words. Well I knew it was going to be impossible for me to attend but I ran out the very next day and purchased your book. I couldn’t believe that there were actually other women living the same situation as me. Praise the Lord! I am not alone. You have no idea how comforting and insightful your words were and continue to be for me. I am so grateful that the Lord has guided me to you and your ministry.

I was really struggling with our mismatched faiths and I guess he went on an Internet search for a Christian book because he found you. I know that there’s a reason why God pointed him to your book and I can’t wait to fully understand why.
