My friends, thank you for your amazing comments on the post last Friday. I’m blown away. I wanted to respond to each one however, in the midst of such a milestone the devil tries to take back ground and destroy. Let’s just say on Friday there was a lot of crying going on at the Donovan house due to an unexpected turn of events with regard to my daughter. 

I know many of you saw my few posts on Facebook and I’m deeply thankful for your prayers. It was your prayers that allowed me to walk with her through this trial and retain a somewhat calm mind and heart. I want to assure you that everything has worked out. I am fine and so is my daughter. In fact, God has redeemed much already and that is a very happy thing. I have learned some much needed lessons through this weekend and one day will share them with you. For now, I’m still allowing God to continue to work things out, to teach me and my daughter through it. 

Okay, enough of that. ONWARD.. 

On Monday over at 1Peter3Living the crowd has agreed to fast and pray together. Can I just say I love this community of believers. Monday is Rosh Hashanah. That is the beginning…. God’s New Beginning. This day is considered the “New Year” in the Jewish tradition and calendar. 

What a perfect day to be humble, fast and to pray seeking God’s hand in our lives. So I invite all of you in our community to also plan to fast and pray for your spouse this Monday, September 16 & 17th. We will be fasting from sunset on September 16th through sunset of the 17th. This is the Jewish tradition for fasting. 

Kinda cool, huh?? 

This is a wonderful time to participate in something very old and precious to our Lord. So if you can, join us. 

Sunset where I live on September 16: 2012 begins at 6:51 p.m. PST

Sunset on September 17, 2012 is 6:51 p.m. PST  

If you can fast, let me know and let me know your husband’s name as I will pray for his salvation just as we are doing over at 1P3.So I will plan to join my family for dinner at 7 p.m. Monday evening and break the fast. I’m expecting my prayers to avail much. I want God to be honored by my life. I will be asking His favor upon my life, my family and all whom I have contact. I will be asking for chains to be broken and for freedom of the captives. I will be seeking the anointing of the Holy Spirit. But mostly my prayer time will be devoted to just be in His presence.

    I am so glad that things are better! I was worried. I would love to fast, but I can’t fast food considering I have a baby on the way. I will pray and see what God would like me to fast.     I’m so looking forward to this fast which says a lot since this is not my strength. I know God will be moving in ways we cannot even imagine! My spirit thrills at the thought and my heart races.
    Father God, we come before you as your people in this time of renewal, calling, and increase. For those you give much, you ask much out of your desire that all would know you and your love for your creation. Lord, help us to love you more, serve you with all our hearts, souls, minds and strengths. Show us these new places you are working and where you are calling us to join in.
    Lord, we want more of you! You are everything to us! You are enough! Nothing compares to you! Show us your glory, Lord. Let us be your witnesses and let us be witnesses to the world, to our friends and family, to our pre-believers! You are, Lord! You are! We adore you and pray in Jesus’ mighty and holy name, amen!

    The last few weeks I’ve been looking into the background of the upcoming Jewish holidays, and was considering some sort of fast, but I wasn’t sure of the details yet. This post has confirmed and set it. I will be fasting along with you the 16th/17th. Please add my husband Matt to your prayer list, I am expecting big things for this “new year”!

    I will pray and fast as well. My estranged husband is Dennis. He left a year ago and has filed for divorce. Today we would have been married 28 years. I still love him and am burdened to pray he would come to know Jesus and his need for him. As for our dissolving marriage, I leave that in God’s hands…I will lift up you all!

    Lynn, I will be joining you. My marriage is rapidly coming to an end,my husband pulls away more and more each day. I see him fighting with the enemy who is holding him captive and I know who he needs but he still doesn’t see it. I will be praying for my husband, Omar to surrender it all to our Lord Jesus Christ, for the bondage of pride, unforgivness and all his hurts be broken, and for our marriage to overcome all this as well. For clarity for me so that I know what God wants me to do.

    Thank you for the Hebrews for Christians resource. I have been praying to learn Hebrew. I will be fasting—a juice fast—next week. I’ve devoted the month of September to a nutritional fast. Please pray for my husband, Rosario. He is traveling for his job and will be away from home until the 24th. He is not a believer. Thanks so much.

    I asked God to confirm if I needed to fast. That was a week ago… This was my confirmation. Fasting with y’all and praying for those that have commented. My husband left me and our 2 kids 3 years ago for another woman. I know and believe God will restore us to better than before. His name is Joe.

    I am thankful to partake in this fast with you dear wonderful ladies! I’m praying for ex-husband Steve and his live-in Big Bev. Praying theirs and my bonds with him are broken! I want freedom in Christ to have my heart closely led by Him! Divorce of 15 yr marriage was a few weeks ago, and praying I can get through nursing school and serve more than one thankless person! Want to get over this wishing he would change his mind and hopscotch back! Thankful God is teaching me tough boundaries and to know how to enforce lines of respect! Doormat no more anonymous!

    I’m feeling the attack as well. It’s funny, something very unexpected and earth shaking has happenend in my home this weekend too. I havnt even had time to gather my thoughts, but I know that I have a wonderful support system. Funny how you can go through life complaining about such little things, and then boom! Something knocks you off your feet and changes your perspective. I’ll be praying for both of us during this time. Yes, I will be fasting and my husbands name is Matt.

    Dear Lynn,
    I’ve been laboring in prayer for an unsaved male friend for nearly two years. We moved from estrangement to a peaceable calm that remembers yesterday no more. My decision to stand in the gap was borne out of something I can’t explain, save an intrinsic desire to see him reconciled with the Lord. He’s not my husband, I’m single.
    I’ll be joining you and the other ladies for the fast and look forward to seeing the breakthroughs and answers that the Lord has in store for us all.     I’m so glad I saw this.
    I will join you as I have been on tuesdays. Since I’m still actively nursing it will be sweets and things, as well as the computer. And probably a plain breakfast tomorrow morning – same as I do for tuesdays now.
    I will try to devote some of the extra time to added prayer, but I am also using the time to work on decluttering the house – something my husband has wanted for a long time, and ties in big with a major call from God on my life.
    I am fasting for my husband Charles and for his parents as well. God is doing some big things in all their lives!

    Please pray for my husband Greg, he is looking at leaving this marriage of 37 years. He would like to move back to his childhood home & live in the house he was raised in. His sister is also encouraging this so she could move in with him, as she is single and finding life difficult. He has many addictions and it has not been a easy marriage. Pray for his salvation and his eyes would be opened. Pray for protection over me and our 3 son’s as the enemy is very busy these days.

    I’m joining in on the fast as well and seeking prayer agreements for the salvation for my husband Jeremy. Our home has been broken since he walked out on us December of last year and this has been the hardest walk of my life since that day. I truly feel and understand Job, as I feel as though Im walking his life day by day. I’m scheduled for spine surgery this Thursday morning and Tuesday will be last day of work until January. I just feel so emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually drained of everything anymore. Please keep my two children, husband and myself in your prayers.

    Also Johnny needs healing in his back Dr. said pinched nerve? Lynn it is

    Dear Dineen and Lynn~ joining you in the fasting and praying…praying for you and your husbands – I have been encouraged by your stories/sharing of life in your spiritually unequal marriage and hear and know God is working…please pray for my husband, too – jeff. We will be married 32 years on 9/19 and I’m still praying for him to surrender himself to the Lord – giving God full control of His life…sounds like all of our prayers, doesn’t it?
