My firends, we've talked a lot about loneliness in our mismatched marriages over the years, but I heard a new twist on it while listening to a podcast by Pastor Nathan Edwardson. It's amazing. Are you ready? This is what he said:

"Loneliness is an invitation to know and pursue the One who will never abandon us."

Wow. Talk about flipping your thinking to a new dimension. It's turning a negative into a positive. What a stunning idea, to think of our lonely moments as an invitation to know and pursue our Lord! Let's do it!

And now for some weekend worship. Here are two songs by the group Salvador. (Joanne, this will get your feet moving in your kitchen!) Turn up the volume and get ready to dance, my friends, because it's time to worship Jesus with some foot action!

    I love when something you’ve perceived for years is suddenly spun so to be observed from a completely different angle! We would NEVER learn these vital facts if we were not pursuing our Father like a little child asking “Why….but why….why…why…”
    AWESOME WORD NEEN and worship tune selection! Salvador is definitely a kitchen, not studio tune! LOL Can’t sit still! LOVE the Latin influence! 😀
    Soak in the Holy Spirit this worship weekend Sumite family so His will can be revealed and we can walk through our open door(s) with confidence and trust knowing He is right beside us!
    p.s. This part spoke loud for what I’m experiencing now…”Can’t wait for the world…make some noise” Remember how Jesus walked…invite, share, move on to the next town (person) He brings to you.
    No movement = deflated faith, frustrated spirit. Noise.
    Movement = Growth, encouraged faith. CELEBRATION NOISE! (the church lady shout kind)
    “You will know there’s nothing you can’t do as you fall deeper in love!”
    Was that too many exclamation marks? LOL

    I’m glad you wrote about this today! When we feel lonely, our default should be to get closer to the one who will never leave us. What a good reminder! I think I just wore Joanna out dancing! Lol! Have a great day!

    Great post! So true. I have been there with loneliness. Took me a while to understand that Jesus is always there.

    Me too Lynette. I thought…ALL THE TIME? Yikes. At first I wasn’t too excited about that but since growing up more in my faith walk I am encouraged and thankful for His constant presence in my life. In fact…I can’t imagine going through a single day now without thinking about God and anxiously seeking and asking His favour, grace and mercy.
    We walk by faith, not by sight! 🙂

    Worship music is SO energizing! DO you find that too Heather? It blows me away sometimes how PUMPED I can become with these powerful tunes. I try to tell people this and they just look at me like I have two heads. I just laugh cuz if you ain’t gonna try it you’ll never experience it!
    Make a JOYful noise! WOO HOOOO!!

    Love to Worship, I find it is healing to the spirit. Our local christian radio station plays worship music most of Saturday, I so look forward to that day if, I’m not working.

    This topic is something I really relate to. I used to really struggle with it, and one day at a conference i was just feeling ao alone and crushed and another girl told me to go to the chapel to pray and told me to tell Jesus that I just needed Him to be everything for me right now. Those words really stick with me. Even outside of my marriage loneliness has really been something I struggled with growing up too… It can feel pretty lonely when I’m the only one of my close friends with kids and being home with no other adults to talk to 4 or 5 days a week. I love having Jesus with me to talk to and keep me going.
    In that chapel, The Lord also spoke these words to me. That ‘ loneliness was my cross to bear’. This also gave me new perspective and it comforted me to understand that this was something that was not going to go away but I would have these feelings again and again, if just helped to know that, instead of wondering if it will ever end? It made it easier.

    Now in my SUM I am thankful that this feeling of loneliness pushes me deeper into relationship w my true spouse, the lover of my soul, Jesus, and the God who made me for Himself. It really is a blessing because I know I wouldn’t have the kind of deep, personal intimate relationship with my Lord that I do now. And I know the time I’ve invested in this relationship will become more and more valuable and precious with time. 🙂

    Amen Gill! LOTS of things are made more clear when we focus and meditate on the image of Jesus on the cross. Things are really put into perspective by His sacrifice! Even a little thing like noticing healthy people sitting down after a few worship songs. I don’t care HOW sore my feet or back are. I’m standing because this pain is nothing compared to what my Saviour endured on the cross.
    You are not alone…I am not alone…we are not alone…ever! AMEN!

    So true, Heather. God even spoke that to my heart a couple years again when I kept asking Him to help me hear him better. He told me specifically, “You will find me in worship.” So awesome!

    People tell me that and it seems incredible especially because I only started to believe at all about 7 years ago! I’m so excited to see too 🙂
