On Friday we left with the strange
and fascinating story about Elijah. How he stepped out onto the mountain to
haven an encounter with God.

If you remember, (if you don’t’
remember, you MUST read Friday’s post) I’m seated in a Bible study addressing
the leader as I’m speaking. I continued explaining my thoughts on this passage
in 1 Kings and said, “I believe this (taking a step of faith) is especially
true when it comes to healing. Healing of our hearts, our spirit and especially
physical healing.”

Well that is when everything went
nuts.

The leader stopped talking. I
stopped talking. She was staring at me with such intensity and I didn’t have a
clue what was going on. All of a sudden she bursts into tears and says to me,
“Lynn, I have been asking God that you would pray for me for my physical
healing and that I would know it’s of Him when I heard you speak of it from
your own lips.”

I think I sat there dumbfounded.
But then it was if the Holy Spirit flooded that room with such power that I
jumped to my feet. I asked her to stand. The six of us in that room surrounded
her, layed our hands upon her and began to pray.

Now it’s difficult for me to
explain what happened next.

Let me start of by sharing that the
experience I’m about to tell you had its origin months earlier when I
experience an encounter with the Most High. It was the same filling and
expression of the Holy Spirit that happened to me in worship while at the Bethel
conference. A Holy God encounter.

I began to tremble. I felt God’s
power and love come down over me and flow to the others in the room and onto
the leader who was facing me and my hands rested upon her shoulders. My eyes
were closed and I don’t really remember all that I prayed. But I prayed with
power, certainty, conviction and petition for healing.

The woman began to shake and
tremble. I was fully trembling under the power that was coming from above me
and coursing through my body. When this happens to me it’s like I’m being
electrocuted, kinda in a good way. I can feel it flow down from my head, bounce
off the bottom of my feet, back to my head and back down again. I can’t breathe
in the beginning and I can’t move. I’m frozen under the waves of power and love
flowing over me. Then my right hand begins to shake uncontrollably, vibrating
with a force I don’t understand nor can I fully explain. I become completely
hot from head to toe breaking out in a not-too-feminine sweat.

The woman in front of me is now
trembling. I can feel her growing hot. I’m praying a Holy shake down of heaven
upon this woman, declaring her healing from cancer and fear. I prayed with a
passion and purpose that clearly was of the Holy Spirit.

We finished and I think we were all
wiped out and so astonished at all that just happened it took days for us to
process it all.

The next day as I was praying, giving
utter thanks to God for answering my prayers to bring healing and her prayers FOR
healing and just allowing me to be part of His Kingdom, I heard the Lord say to
me a few things.

“It was her faith and belief and my
love and power that healed her.” And God went on to assure me that her healing
was completely between the two of them and that I was only the conduit. Her
healing is entirely up to her belief (her step of faith) and God’s love and
power. Wow, that just removes me completely from the picture and I AM SO
UTTERLY RELIEVED BY THAT. I don’t want to be responsible for her healing but I
do want to be part of what God is doing on this earth.

How about you?

Okay, once again I can imagine it’s
a weird and challenging story to take in. It’s challenging for me to write
about this kind of supernatural stuff because it is often the Christians who
can’t believe God still moves like this in our current day. But, I hope that
all of you have known me for some time and KNOW my character and my faith. I’m
just on a journey like all of you to live fully in the Presence of the Most
High. I WANT for all of you to have a Holy encounter with our Daddy. So begin
to pray something like this:

Lord, I’m hungry for more of You.
I’m hungry to experience my faith not just know it as theology. I want to have
a Holy encounter with grace, healing, hope and your power. I deeply desire to
be a conduit of your Presence and bring Your purposes to people. Increase in me
Papa, Daddy. I will exchange my dignity, my possessions, my everything just to
live every day in Your Holy Presence. Teach me Lord how to move closer to you.
Send me to people who can teach me more about your glory, signs and wonders. I
want to live like Jesus did, bringing hope, truth, light and healing. I want to
live out His command in Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure
those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

In King Jesus name. Amen

Matthew 10:8 IS God's will for each and everyone of His people. Today, tomorrow and for all of our life. Do you believe this?

    POWERFUL LYNN! AMEN! I was on my knees INSTANTLY at the prayer in closing here.
    I have felt that electricity but not to the extreme that you have experienced…yet.
    I remember just before departure time on my Mission Trip I suddenly turned around and said to David, “I just need you to know that my faith level is going to grow to a whole deeper level when I return from Africa.” As I think about that now?…that was NOT even something of my own thought to tell him. THAT was God suddenly speaking through me and I am now, after the trials I faced to deter me, rising up to that next level and although a bit scary I know my God is with me so I will obey and let Him control the circumstances then it will all be good and exciting!
    I’m glad you share every encounter Lynn. We have to be bold and tell others how God is working in our lives. Those whose name He is calling will follow…the ones who do not we will pray for but we can’t stand still with them or we’ll start sinking! Each person is responsible to move their own feet.
    Hhhmmm…I just pictured pushing someone in a wheelchair. When we push them they don’t experience the walk for themselves. They need healing. We share His Word which could get them out of that chair BUT it’s up to them whether they want to walk or just keep rolling along without effort.
    I felt really impressed to share that?
    Lord Jesus we crave Your desire for the life You have planned for us. We are actively seeking You in our days and have our hand on the door knob just waiting to turn it and walk through to the next level You have already planned for our future.
    We are geared up, prayed up and walking by faith knowing that You ARE in control! THANK YOU JESUS! AMEN! <><

    What an awesome testimony. I too believe God wants healing for us. The way the world is lately, I don’t think just using words is enough for those who don’t believe. We are bombarded with words everyday, and often they are lies. People need to see God’s glory! I have also seen people of God who’s faith has wavered. I believe it’s because we have limited God to only knowing Him through the bible. People need to know God is still n the business of healing, restoration and miracles. We need to be the conduit you spoke of. Thanks for sharing this.

    Just like in baptism it isn’t about the person performing the act. I know the first time I ever saw something like that I didn’t know what to think or believe. Experiencing it firsthand is what made me realize how true healing and God’s
    power is. I’m surprised she didn’t pass out. In our healing school ministry we are instructed to pray with our eyes open for a few reasons including if the person goes out.

    Praise God, Praise God, and again, I say,”Praise God.”
    Ever since I was a child of 9 years old I have believed in divine healing. The Sunday School stories of Jesus’ healing the sick got down deep into my Spirit. I long to see cancer gone, diabetics gone, and all manner of sickness gone by the power of God. The Drs. can only do so much, and I thank God for every person in the medical field. But, I believe there is a divine intervention that can only come about through the supernatural intevention of the Lord Jesus Christ.
    I am so thankful He is using you, Lynn, as a vessel in this area. My oh my, I knew from the way you and Dineen had been writing since you got back from Bethel that you both had had a new encounter with Jesus. Speak it forth as you are doing with boldness and enter into all that He has for you. I am praying for you both.

    I have been this conduit for Gods glory for many years now. You have beautiful put into words which I have been unable to explain clearly to others. I describe his power as an electric current that runs through my entire body. It is so strong it moves my arms is all different motions. I have no control over it. It is simply a beautiful experience. Some people I touch are healed and some are not. It is important not to take it personaly. Elisa Angelle <3 <3 <3

    Lynn, I do believe, and I believe big. God created us to share His own Life with us, and He pours that life into us, so we can be His hands and feet and share Him with the world, a world that is broken and yearns for His care.
    I think what you said about the whys of healing is so important. There are times when Christians pray for healing or something else and it doesn’t come, and it could be God’s will but it could also be that the person doesn’t have the faith to receive that kind of healing, at least not yet. And Lynn, as I write this Gina comes to my mind.
    I have felt the power of the spirit, and it seems to come only from a place of surrender and love (if I’m not rightly focused or if I’m striving in some way, I find I have to let go). When it happens I will start to shake, usually my hands/arms, but not real electric current as of yet. To me, it’s like my little body can’t contain Him and His Love!

    Lynn this is so God right now…you have no idea! This happened to me on Saturday this weekend, when I went up on a prayer line with my sister. As we were waiting I just felt like I should be praying for her so I did silently but I had my arm outstretched to her. And I started getting full body shakes, which I have experienced some shakiness before but it struck me as really odd because prior it was only while someone else was praying over me. And later I went home and asked God what that was about…and you completely answered my question. There is more to this as well concerning a related prophecy that person gave me on the same prayer line. I almost literally missed the amazing thing God was doing this weekend because I was disappointed and discouraged because I thought I was going to receive a word about my husband and our current situation and I didn’t. I’ve been totally stuck on focusing on myself and feeling awful the past few days which I think was really just a plan of the enemy to keep me distracted from realizing the amazing things God was doing! Sorry this is so long, I’m still figuring out what this all means but this really helped.

    WOW WOW WOW, Lynn, what a fresh breath of air to hear. All what I been feeling, and a prompting in my spirit in how God wants to work in our lives you said it beautifully and God was speaking to my heart of questions I been asking Him, and confirmations. I can’t tell you a enough how nice it is to hear this for other chritian women who does not have a grasshopper mentality. ( no way am I trying to be disrespectful ) but , like you said I have come across other Christians which just limit God, and if you speak like this they think you are crazy. Maybe this is why this community is so important because, we all have so much on the line. We know we need God in such big way, to show up in our lives, and in our husband’s lives to change that heart of stone to a heart of flesh. But,God knows he first has to do the work In us to make us more like Juses. To suffer the wrongs, to not be offended to show love, kindness and patience when all you want to do is get out or knock them over the head ( just keep it real and we all know it is not always like this) the sake of winning your loved one over for Christ.     HOLY MOLY! That’s a story alright! I still have chivers after reading! There is POWER is in His name and I want to be a conduit and live like Jesus lived! I’m in a sunday school class learning about the Holy Spirit and this is so encouraging. Been feeling for a while that God’s getting ready to do something BIG! The question is, are we ready? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to miss out. I don’t want God to pass me by and not get a glimpse of His glory! Whew, this is good stuff! THANK YOU, GOD! Ya, HE ROCKS! So excited! So excited!

    Amen Lynette. This is what I’m understanding more of lately. Actions are proof of God’s love. People do need to know though that are receiving from us because of God’s instruction/direction otherwise they just think it’s “karma.” THAT drives me crazy!

    Father as I pray for Marvie, I also pray for myself and others who read this and join in. We surrender control of our life to You because we know what You have in store for us is good and we deeply desire to be there. We want Your power to grow greater in us so others will witness the obvious difference. The stronger we become in our faith, the bolder we get and only then will we be able to harvest Your children Lord and Praise You with Glory and Honour for the work You do through us will be so very apparent.

    Write as much as you need Liz. We all love hearing each other’s testimonies and experiences. My story is the opposite of your’s Liz. I had to return my attention back to my own life. When I got home from my mission trip I was attacked big time by many who have Satan controlling their lives and who have STILL not stepped out to seek Jesus as their Savior or in other cases, desire to grow and develope a stronger relationship with Him?? Staying in chains, strongholds, pits. I can’t understand why, especially when things get as bad as they are for some people BUT…I got lost in all their troubles and no one was really listening to what I had to say about God or taking any steps to change or reach out to Jesus so He finally got my attention one day to refocus and start walking the path I was supposed to be on since I returned home. I shared the Word but I couldn’t MAKE them listen and desire it. The enemy works big time on distracting us from God’s will. If I don’t stay in the Word, keep up with prayer, listen to lessons…I’m afraid I would give into earthly desires because I have so many in my life who do not think as I think. This brings me to the path God wanted me on when I came home from my mission trip. Get into LifeGroups and Bible Studies and Church events where I will surround myself with more people of faith. Keeping company with people of faith will strengthen me to win over those without any. I am so thankful you got things into perspective so you could get back on track and leave the enemy eating dust!

    I SO HEAR YOU Pat with “knock them over the head” I also want to SHAKE PEOPLE! I actually picture myself holding my friends and loved ones by the shoulders or even neck sometimes “YIKES” like I can shake them into believing?? Another image is being caught up in the Rapture and yelling back…”I TRIED TO TELL YOU BUT YOU WOULDN’T LISTEN!!!” It’s simply frustrating. I have to remember how powerful prayer is and just be dedicated that way until they approach me again. “sigh” p.s. I’m not a violent person…anymore. 😉

    A very powerful testimony, don’t ever feel weird or scared to share with us! I believe that God is good and he can do ANYTHING that he wants. I also believe that the same spirit that was in the desciples resides in all who have been saved by God’s amazing grace.

    Joanne, I have wrestled in the past because so many in my life don’t think as I do. It was a worry too that I can only turn over to God. This is one reason that I love the Sumites so much. I’ve also found a mid week Bible study at work. …. But what I really want to say is that I love your testimony about a mission trip. I am invited to one, but it is 3 weeks which is more than I can manage right now. What organization did you go with?

    You do have special gifts. I just love you. And I agree with the above comments. We need to let God work through us. So many, even Christians, have stopped expecting the exceptional. Our culture is so cynical, thinking that intellect is the only dimension in life. God can show His power to get their attention.

    OH TERESA! I am going to pray that the possibility for you to go on a mission trip becomes a real possibility! I went with my church. I smile every time I think and know how God wanted me on this. HE was the one who took my hand and raised it in the air to join!! I myself was shocked at that.
    I just had to delete a whole bunch of lines because I tend to get carried away with my whole experience of my mission trip. I never desired or dreamed to go on one but God did.
    “Trust me” He said.
    He will make a VERY APPARENT way Teresa if it is His desire for you to go. I know you know that and it will be one of those super exciting, baffling, jaw dropping, supernaturally obvious GOD moments!
    I wasn’t financially able and He made a way. I have bosses who would NEVER allow me gone for 2 weeks in a row even for my summer vacation but God made a way. I gave all my savings for my plane ticket away just before C’mas to help a friend fly home to testify to her dying brother and with no funds left for my own ticket, God made a way.
    I feel to share my email address here if anyone ever desires to talk about mission trips more indepth because I just get flowing like a river when I get onto my own experience of Africa.

    Love the sharing, it lifts my spirits. I to need to focus on being thankful for what God has done in my life in spite of a SUM, & it is very hard at times that my mind wonders — I can become angry with God.
    I to have experienced the hot hot feeling and tingling when praying for someone, this brings me back to remember those times and know that God is with me.
    Excited for what God is up to!!

    AMEN! So awesome! I do not recall ever feeling this. But I believe with all my being that God is a miraculous healer.
    I surrender to my Lord, all of my life. I hunger for more of Him! I desire to be in His will constantly, to have a Godly experience! . Abba we love and praise you! In Jesus name!

    Yes Elisa – this is very true – Lynn dont be discouraged if someone isnt healed ……and sometimes, the people that dont even believe, get healed – God is God and doenst explain himself all of the time – so it isnt always (sometimes God wants that and sometimes He doesnt need it) about believing but always about HIS Holiness and Grace – I am so joyful for you Lynn to have experienced this – we have been doing that for years now here. I havent experienced it personally to pray for someone for healing but have for salvation – it is fantastic and so apostel peter – smile – PRAISE GOD AND JESUS CHRIST WHO THROUGH ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE – Amen

    Lynn,
    Thank you so much for sharing, the feeling in your soul and the physical feeling had to be beyond words. Whats that song “it feels like chaos” I think this song says it perfectly what I imagine that moment to be like. I also feel like we are all part of that feeling when its within our family here, and I mean that in a phyisical sense like when a twin can sense the feeling of the other twin. Its so nice to have this line of communication here…..more and more lately I feel people (the ones close to me) think I have gone a bit to far with “the God thing” and that enough is enough and I should give a rest…..but I dont want to give a rest, I have been quiet and just standing firm in my actions as a christian, because I feel I might push them away…..Im starting to get the feeling God is saying “be patient Heidi and just watch and see whats to happen next”. But Im glad I dont have to be quiet here.

    Oh, Carie. You are speaking my heart’s desire! I don’t want the God of Glory to pass me by because I’m sitting on the sidelines afraid to step out. Can’t even think about what I’ve already missed. REALLY CAN’T THINK ABOUT IT! But He is the Great Redeemer and He will redeem! And you are so right, THIS is the good stuff. Praise His Holy Name!     Loved reading your comment SO MUCH, Pat. Loved especially how you said we have so much on the line. So true. So amazing too that the very thing that brings us to our knees had brought us so much closer to God. God’s redemptive power once again. What the enemy wants to use to discourage and break us, God uses to bring us closer to Him and make us stronger. Go Holy Spirit! Move among us! We praise You, Jesus!

    I have been feeling alone in my SUM and I believe the Holy Spirit led me here… I am so blessed to read this.. I feel directed and led.. I read your blog God Answers Me. A supernatural encounter.. I kept reading and the feeling I get when the Holy Spirit is around overcame and the tears rolled down and I started praying.. Thank you for this community.. Thank you my holy sister… May you keep doing amazing things God Does heal..
