Random – Rosh Hashanah

It’s Wednesday and time for another post. Yikes. I haven’t had time to respond to all of the dreams that were posted in the comments on the September 23rd post. Please be patient with me as I want to post a reply comment to every one of them.

So today, I am only leaving you with a few random thoughts to consider. On Friday, I’m expecting our Lord to whisper again as He often does on the Day of Atonement.

Here is my randomness and in no particular order:

“Look at the nations and watch-
    and be utterly amazed.
For I am going to do something in your days
    that you would not believe,
    even if you were told. -Habakkuk 1:5

 

More than anything, I hear the Father’s urgency during this season. He wants us to just spend time with him and to get to know Him more. He wants us to open hearts to allow Him to know us deeply, intimately. His great desire for us is to experience His love, peace and joy. But we must do our part. Part of it is obedience, part of it is silencing the devil and the lies, embracing truth and having even just a tiny bit of faith, a mustard seed amount, and step into the next season and adventure He has planned.

I pray that the entire SUMite community will rise and step into their inheritance, claim the power, love and our identity as His beloved child.

Then we, The SUMites, will represent Him well.

I believe in the power of fasting. If at all possible, please plan to fast from sunup to sundown on Saturday. I’m convinced you will hear from God.

    I am so excited about this because I can see God’s fingerprints all over it! I’ve learned such a huge lesson in the short time since we started this discussion. Allowing myself to dream big has opened up a new level of surrender. Over these years I’ve gotten comfortable with the moment to moment surrender of my day but I never think about God’s big plan for my life. Suddenly I was smacked with the realization that God wants to use meek and mild people to accomplish big things, things that can be used for His glory. Now I feel free to pray for the dreams that my soul has only quietly whispered. Free to pray for His will and stand confident in the knowledge that He will provide a way to make these dreams a reality.

    Lynn, Thank you so much for the Dream Big exercise. I sent you my five but as the days go by, I have found myself daring to dream even more, some big because they seem completely impossible and some big because they will require BIG obedience. I will be joining you to fast this weekend.
    I can’t wait to hear about the conference next week. There will be amazing things happening at every session. But try to find some time to be alone with our Daddy. I think He has some important words to whisper in your ear-maybe even a new BIG Dream! or maybe He will show you the blueprints for a bridge!

    I am so excited to see what god is doing in the heavens and here on earth! My husband was/is, as they say, once a Marine always a Marine. He takes great pride in his military service and connects to anything military. This summer he read a book I had bought and now I see in our bathroom is another book titled With God in a POW Camp. This little book has been sitting around quite awhile. I haven’t read it but I can bet it’s got a powerful message to it. I don’t buy books that don’t. He has never picked up any of the books I’ve had and now this is the 3rd. He has also read one of the Robertson’s books from Duck Dynasty. He likes Phil. Men need other men to connect with that have been delivered through similar situations, we all do, and believe me, he doesn’t connect well. But God is changing that!
    There have been walls put up that God is about to tear down. Lately I’ve been seeing the walls of Jericho. I see each of us as Joshua leading the army of angels around these walls (without words – sound familiar?) Joshua 6:10 But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!” — I believe we are on this journey together with a Godly army and one of these days God is going to tell us to shout and He will tear down those walls! (Now I’m not telling anyone to go shout at their spouse — I think it’s going to be something we experience in our prayer closets)
    I want to encourage everyone to keep dreaming and praying!!

    This is so AWESOME! I am grateful for this exercise because it has really made me look deep into my heart. To admit dreams that I know God put there but thought if told would make me look foolish. I cannot wait for what comes next! Praise God!

    I just saw a picture that said “Light shines more brightly through broken vessels.” Sometimes we get so caught up in wanting God to “make us whole” that we forget in our brokenness is when God uses us the best to reach out to others in the same situations. I don’t think we will ever truly be made whole till we are in heaven because once we get through one trial we seem to come up against another and God breaks us back down to continue remolding us. Chipping away the negative. I know God, through this group, has done great things in each of us. You can hear it in the words we each print from day to day.
    This morning there was a lady on one of the pages I view that said she needed prayer and a hug so I typed out what God led me to say, and then I encouraged her to encourage others. I told her about the broken vessel and suggested that God can use her today to reach someone else who may need to hear her story/struggle and gain something from what did and didn’t work in her own experience and they will use her wisdom in their own walk. God uses me to encourage others and I cannot relate to you with enough exuberance what it does for my spirit. It changes my entire outlook. That is what this group does for me. I read back over past comments and pray as I go through them for each of you.

    AWESOME WORD Merlene! Love humour mixed in! I just took all the reading material out of my bathroom in frustration that NOTHING was touched in 6 months? You have insoired me to RELOAD the rack! *wink* THANK YOU!

    HIGH 5 SISTA! YOU ROCK! INDEED there is POWER and healing in taking our focus OFF our own dilemmas and helping someone else. God does amazing things when we just look OUTWARD instead of inward at “poor me.”

    I see my letter! So happy it made it into your hands. I wanted to stop by and share something since we have been talking about worship lately and how I have always felt unable to fully release myself in worship. I am still not sure what God is trying to convey to me on this subject but I feel like He is really trying to reveal something to me.
    A friend on facebook posted the following, and again, it’s like what is he trying to tell me?!
    ‘Two weeks ago I spent 4 days with a very humbled man of God. He changed my view completley on how we as Christians are supposed to act. And how Worship is supposed to be. And how you can be in a church full of sheep and never be noticed or missed. But the only one that it matters to is God. When its time to enter into worship are you there? Are you allowed to release the song God gave you? If you have a screeching voice it doesnt matter. You should never surpress the song God gives you. Thats what I was missing. Whats the true meaning of worship to you? When God revealed this to me it changed my life. I have never been this happy ever. Its time for change and Im loving it’

    I used to plop books in front of him and say hey maybe you’d like this but I don’t do that anymore. He took it that I was pushing. So use caution. I have them in a pile somewhere visible but I don’t say anything to him about them. I bought about Tim Tebow and Franklin Graham too. I love to pick up books at the thrift stores.

    I have been so emotional about this! I don’t know why, but I just want to cry happy tears! I feel our Abba in this and the love that comes from Him! I can’t wait to see what he has coming!

    Amen on the “Name it and claim it gospels” and also the “make it happen gospels” too. We can name it and claim it and strive to make it happen but if it isn’t in God’s will OR His plan for our life it will never come to fruition nor will it succeed. I’m sure we all would love to believe we will be BILLIONAIRES this month and ya know what? I believe it WILL happen…IF God so desires.
    It’s ALL in HIS hands and His timing and we just have to accept and BELIEVE in the GOOD plans He has for us, work with a joyful heart and the things in our life turn into our treasures. When we become content and find peace with this?….Our Daddy suddenly SURPRISES us with rewards and blessings.

    Carrie, I sense so strongly that God is doing something specific and powerful in your life. Girl, I can’t wait to see it all happen.  Lord, ministry, favor, increase and Your perfect will for this daughter. In Jesus name. Amen.
