It was several years ago when I was contemplating illness, disease, and the health struggles humanity faces that I was directed by the Holy Spirit to Psalm 107:17-22.
Open your Bibles and let’s read together this passage. I will be reading the New King James version.
I was asking the Lord. “Why do people get sick, especially Christians?” Many of you know, I pray for healing for people. And I’m praying accelerated healing over my wrist right now so, this is a very personal study for me.
Reading through this Psalm, the revelation started to fill my mind.
In verse 17, God is admonishing humans because of our transgression and because of iniquity. So what actually is a transgression and for that matter, what really is iniquity?
It’s important to understand these definitions as there are very real consequences that affect our lives.
You see, transgression and iniquity can open our sole up to a spirit of affliction which creates oppression, disease, and more.
What is transgression? It is willful sin. What I mean by that is it is rebellion. The greatest sin against God from the beginning has been rebellion. (Disobedience) It’s the same thing today as it was in the beginning, transgression is willful rebellion against God and his highest and best for our life.
What are iniquities? Iniquity is bloodline sin that carries on from generation to generation. For example, alcoholism, pride and selfishness, abuse, Free Masonry, etc. I explain generational curses specifically in the Book, Spiritual enforcer. (Click here to read more)
Now take a look at verse 18. These afflictions resulted in their soul abhorred to all manner of food. Isn’t this interesting. The Lord began to reveal to me that much of our illness is because of the food.
Abhor means discussed or hatred. The Holy Spirit began to reveal that the natural food that God created is no longer desired and people have been conditioned to hate it. I sensed by the Holy Spirit, that unhealthy, processed food, was killing us.
This is the result: And they drew near to the gates of death, verse 18b.
And of course, this information isn’t new. I wonder how this passage applied in ancient times when David lived.
But here’s the good part. Verse 19, then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble and he saved them out of their distress.
Now get this. He sent his word and healed them AND delivered them from their destructions. Don’t miss this key. God sends his word. Ask God to send his word or to enforce his word that you have read in the Bible.
Here’s the key. Cry out to God, literally, confess, repent, and renounce partnership with the spirit of gluttony, affliction, and willfulness. Ask the Lord to deliver into your hands, a new way and new food.
Jesus always blessed the food before he ate it. That’s a twofold instruction. Blessing the food removes curses i.e. harmful bacteria, etc. And giving thanks honors God for his provision.
In fact, versus 21 and 22 are all about giving thanks for God's goodness and declaring his works with rejoicing.
OK, what do you think about all this read the passage and if you have further revelation, please share it.
Also read Hebrews 13:15-16. (Doing/giving to someone who can’t repay.)
Reading the Psalms is absolutely and truly healing and lifegiving because our Father is healing and life-giving!!!!!
Bless you today with Divine health. And Jesus mighty name. Amen.
